Come on man. Even with homer glasses it should be easy to see how much better Roquan is than Bituli. Theres a reason Roquan is projected to be a top 10 pick and Bituli isn't, but just in case you can't see it, here is PFF grades for UT and UGA.
Roquan Smith- 90.4 (second overall in the NCAA)
Daniel Bituli: 78.5
Here's the 0-100 grading scale PFF uses and what the numbers means:
> 85 or higher: Considered NFL-ready
> 80-84: Very good
> 50-60: Average
> Below 50: Bad
Sauce:
PFF Grades: Georgia's defense vs Oklahoma's offense
Tennessee Vols football: Pro Football Focus player grades for 2017 season
This! Bituli on his BEST day is not nearly the LB that Roquan Smith is and if D4H is using his "eye test" to justify it, blindness is something he should be checked for. Again, neither Bituli or Kirkland would make UGAs two-deep and neither will be NFL starters except for spot starts here and there.
Once again you keep confusing college effectiveness with pro potential.
Bituli and Kirkland are more TALENTED than Roquan Smith in the same way Alvin Kamara was more talented and a better NFL player than Derrick Henry.

I don't get the weird obsession over pro potential? There are plenty of good college players who might not have amazing pro potential.

Once again, you're just absolutely incorrect in every way and that's why those guys will do good just to get drafted. Take off the orange glasses and watch Roquan work sideline to sideline, then watch him shed blockers, then watch how sure handed he is when tackling. Neither Kirkland or Bituli have more college effectiveness (whatever the hell that is supposed to be) or pro potential than Roquan Smith.
There hasn't been and won't be a day on this earth where those guys have more talent in any way than Roquan Smith. That is just pure homerism on your part. If you hadn't made so many other poor evaluations I would honestly think you were kidding but man, this is horrendous. Kirkland gets clogged in the middle too much and has entire games where he is no where to be found and Bituli lacks quickness and sideline to sideline speed. Both will be doing good just to get drafted yet NFL scouts are looking at a Junior in Roquan Smith going in the first round.
Only a pure psychopath would think that and believe me, your current HC doesn't agree, I guarantee that. He assisted John Lilly in recruiting Roquan.
The NFL is the highest level of the sport. And it's also where we find out who is actually good and who is a fraud. I view the NFL as the litmus test on talent. Guys who are good in college and become busts in the NFL don't impress me looking back.
I hope you stick around the next couple of years so we can see how this debate plays out. I'm very confident Bituli and Kirkland will be better NFL players than Roquan Smith (who I think will be a solid NFL player in his own right).
Some of the greatest college football players ever arent really expected to be good in the NFL but that dont diminish what they achieved in college
Danny Wuerffel and Doug Flutie for example
But yet you thought Dobbs would somehow transcend that idea of most Heisman Winners and being the GOAT in the NFL as well?
Cue the Butch Jones excuse in 3,2,1,...
Well obviously, he didnt think Dobbs would be the NFL GOAT until he didnt get the Heisman. Once it was clear hed never receive that award, it was obvious that he would be the best QB of all time.
Duh...
Funny thing is, Dobbs is an exceptional athlete but he has never been considered a great passer, and please don't (not you Vols410) throw his completion % at me either, it's a very skewed stat in college football. His mechanics in his preseason games were awful and even his completions not exactly great throws. His footwork is sloppy which is why his passing is inconsistent. With his ability to run, if he was a better passer, he would have went higher than the 4th round.
Yes, D4H, I will be around in the next couple of years. I don't doubt Roquan will have a MUCH better NFL career than Kirkland and Bituli and I am very confident you Josh Dobbs will be the next Jamarcus Russell, Akili Smith or maybe, JUST MAYBE, he will achieve Tim Couch level play.
Funny thing, there are guys who get paid quite well to do what you are attempting to do and if they sucked at it, they wouldn't have a job but somehow, D4H is better than them at it.
Those guys do suck at their jobs. They let Alvin Kamara fall to the 3rd round. A guy who I said before the draft was the #1 RB available and future superstar in the NFL.
I predicted exactly what would happen with Alvin. I said he would be a Marshall Faulk type player who would rush for 1000 yards and have 1000 yards receiving in the same season BEFORE THE DRAFT.
Now people are comparing Alvin to Marshall Faulk (including his head coach Sean Payton). And he's on pace for 800+ yards rushing And 800+ yards receiving as a rookie. Numbers that would put him in class by himself as a rookie.
It's stuff like this that gives my confidence that I know more about this than these so called "experts".
