And, the fact that both VA and TN have had compulsory education laws on the books since 1908 and 1905, respectively, affected your life in no way? You positively dodged any schooling?

Do Amish kids go to Government school (compulsory education)

In VA in the 1970s, you could take the school superintendent a bottle of whiskey and not got to school for the month

Well, then, I congratulate you on being self-educated.

Ive got about three weeks so make it good.

How was it not meant to degrade though?

He simply said, "It shows" that volmaverick has not had any (or any good) formal education. Sure it is a subjective statement, but that does not mean that the statement is meant as degrading. Volmaverick does come across as highly uneducated.

True. As I stated multiple times.

And, yes, it is subjective.

And I wonder why Volmaverick didn't answer the question the first few times he was asked if he, indeed, is self-educated and proud of his accomplishments.

Poor kid in line never paid for lunch in his 11 years going to school gets FULL LUNCH

Middle Class kid in line is 3.10 behind which is maybe 2 days gets an egg

Take the free lunch program away and they BOTH get an egg that day and until they pay!!!

I love how people get outraged over things they have limited knowledge or experience.

So.... it was lack of schooling combined with the drug use?

I'm 100% for the government allowing children to receive free school lunches provided they've signed up for it. If $2.40 is too expensive for a family, and for some it certainly is, simply register properly and get yourself on the list.

I'd assume it's a fairly simple procedure; if you do not qualify for free government lunches and you simply don't pay your small debt to the school, I think that you're pretty darn lucky to be getting anything at all. If you don't want the humiliation and have no legitimate hardship preventing you from paying, just don't eat that day.

This makes a lot of sense until you realize that it is not the children who are responsible. The children who are being humiliated are paying for the sins of their parents.

I realize the following post makes me a pinko commie 'murica hatin liberal....but, I don't mind paying taxes for the free lunches of children of poor families. I would rather a private organization offer that service instead of our government though. I would feel like a ****bag if I witnessed a child go hungry knowing I'm capable of fixing that problem. Before you say it, I know, it's impossible to take care of them all. But we gotta try.

Flame away about how I hate the Constitution and American freedom. I can take it.
