How did Trump open things up? It's also coming out that masks are not quite as effective as people wanted to pretend. But hey, keep reading your fear porn and believer trump had the authority to shut the entire county down and mandate masks.

This was handled wrong from the beginning and when people realized it some decided to double down on stupid and just keep everything closed. This shows local govt is way more important than feds and people should vote accordingly

Insinuate what? You ever wonder why states like New Hampshire and Rhode Island and Idaho rank high while states like Alabama and Louisiana rank low? It’s not “liberal policies” it’s because there is a lower rank of people involved in Drugs, gangs, violence, etc. all races. The only reason some states like Tennessee or Georgia aren’t higher are because of the mix of small druggie counties and large ghettos in Memphis and Atlanta

Local governments stepped in to fill the void left by the Trump Administration. Remember that whole Pandemic planning part of the budget that Trump cut after he came into office? How'd that work out?

Luckily, it has galvanized people to get involved in local government. Sad that it took an orange baffoon to make it happen.

What void. The local and state governments are in charge of their areas. Outside of travel restrictions and CDC type things, the Feds don’t have anything to with legal mask mandates or business closures or anything else

What should he have done? Besides more Ppe stockpiles we've realized that state and local govt had much more influence than the feds. You chose to live in a poorly run state like CA or NY then you get what you vote for.

He should have communicated the overblown reaction to covid once it was realized. Instead he let fauci and crew drive the narrative. That's his biggest failing

You know, the Defense Production Act- which he should have used during the 3 months he had to plan for it and did NOTHING other than a travel ban. The fact that he didn't even talk to governors or attempt to make a coordinated effort to slow the virus. They worked amongst themselves, while the coordination should have been led by the feds. Only thing he was thinking about was the stock market.

Dpa was instituted at the end on March. Cuomo called for more ventilators, got them and then mothballed them. Killed thousands with his direct response yet you go after the feds who thankfully have little power to dictate in these scenarios. That's who he should have consulted with?

The guy you're voting for called the China travel ban "hysterical xenophobia" so we know his response would have been worse and ridiculously more expensive

2. I doubt the travel ban would've even been controversial had Trump not banned Muslims from traveling here.
3. Pandemic board was cut. Again, there was zero preparation on Trump's part

You sure do make a lot of excuses for your guy Biden. Guess it's necessary to stomach a vote for him. He wanted trump to actually do less in the early days of this mess. Now he wants to mandate things he can't.

They're laughing because our govt proved to be dumb cowards instead of leaders. There should have been no further shut down once this virus was understood. Masks should be given to the vulnerable or trashed. Healthy people under 65 are simply not in danger.

I knew it was coming as soon as I heard that the rate of transmission is near measles territory, which was in December. Admittedly, I was a bit ahead of the curve- but I'm also not the President of the United States. We can't say for sure, but we can definitely say for sure that we had cases in March. Trump had 3 months to figure something out that someone with an internet connection could figure out was coming and he sat on his ass and ate steak with ketchup. He was in denial that it was coming until we had hundreds, and then thousands, of known cases.
