Shane Beamer

I'm not a huge Beamer fan, but I can see why SC fans like him. He kinda seems like just one of us average guys who got a head coaching position at a big program. He just says what he wants to say.

That being said, I'm glad our game against them is early next year. I don't want to wait this out any longer than we already have to, we need to absolutely thump them into the ground and remind them of their place in the pecking order.
There is nothing “average guy” about him. He is a silver spoon in his mouth football legacy! And he is a clown! I predicted months ago he will flame out, his act will get old, and can only be cute for so long!!!

Beamer is fools gold. Typical
Blow hard. Even butch beat some better teams and coaches in his tenure. He’ll be there and be a perennial 7 to 8 win team tops. He’ll never reach spurrier level success as USCjr

I think responding to opposing fans on Twitter shows how sensitive the guy is. He had a great couple games to finish the year. His resume as a whole isn't special. If he is responding to common fans in a public forum he won't be able to handle the Shark infested waters of the SEC.

The best indication that new found success isn't sustainable is when you act surprised to have found success at all. Shane Beamer is a little too satisfied with his 8-4 record. That does remind me of Butch Jones from 2015.

If I recall correctly, didn't Butch ask for a raise/extension after 2016? Citing our back to back 9 win seasons as his bargaining tool?

In theory, when you’ve won the game, you’re allowed to talk trash. But is dunking on Twitter trolls really what you should spend your day doing as an SEC HFC? Not like, idk…. recruiting or bowl practice preparation or any number of things that come with running an SEC football program? That’s Lane Kiffin/Butch Jones type crap, 2 losers who’ve never won anything. He’s perfect for USCjr. And I’m sure he’ll give his team Outback Bowl rings just like Butch did if they manage to beat Illinois.

Old School vs New School. Beamer and Kiffin are part of a new breed, but can you imagine if Steve Spurrier had access to twitter as the Gator coach? Where does Heupel fall on the scale?

I don't guess you see a problem with the head of one of those same multi-million dollar organizations making a public spectacle of trolling an opposing school by smoking a victory cigar while still on the field of play, all to bask in a victory over a rival.

I'm guessing you'll never see Saban light up a stogie in celebration while still on the field of play.
Huge difference between advocating for the program by celebrating in the way both teams do on the third Saturday by lighting a cigar and posting it vs individually responding to some rando on Twitter. Are you actually saying those are comparable? Social media is a big part of marketing and recruiting. I’m clearly not advocating removing that. Calling out individuals on Twitter, regardless of what they say, is dumb for a leader of a program.

His players and recruits love it. He is doing what he needs to do to build a winning program and he is doing a good job...like him or not. He earned the right to talk for a year. Live with it
Again-there’s a right way to do social media and a right way to brag. Responding to the crazies on Twitter and giving them credibility isn’t that. Butch Jones level move and he’s got about a five year shelf life if he’s lucky.

You not a musk fan?
Ha-he’s really innovative but not a great example of how a CEO should spend time and lead. He’s better as the idea guy and founder and needs to get experienced CEO’s to manage day to day stuff.

Selective hypocrisy on the part of UT fans. Which year was Saban seen with a cigar while the members of the opposing team was still on the field? You're either above the fray or you're not. Imagine if an Auburn coach went to Toomers Corner to throw toilet paper in the trees. The two examples would be about the same.

Also, this forum has been around a long time. A quick search of the archives would surely turn up a huge trove of fans condemning Kiffin back when he told a prospect he would wind up pumping gas for a living if he chose S. Carolina over the Vols. Back then, many Tennessee fans were loving his "classy" approach because they thought they had the next zinger throwing Steve Spurrier.

Right?

When you win, you get to talk ****.

When you win like they won, you could say a lot worse than that.

All day long. If we don’t like it then stomp a mud hole in them next year. Until then…live with it. And Tennessee fans making dumb comments like “just wait until next year, you’ll eat those words!” Only make us look worse.

They earned the right to troll and talk smack for 11 more months unfortunately. The Ga State comment was unwarranted, and I wish we could have shut him up for that, but we have to deal with it until we can correct it. I don't mind coaches taking shots when they earn it. Most are to robotic and stuffy. Have a little fun. Spurrier's act was always fun in my opinion, and that's why so many gravitated towards Kiffin. If all these guys were robots, it wouldn't be nearly as much fun.
Nah, when you are the highest paid state employee of the state, you probably should hush and let someone else run your social media accounts.. it’s too tempting to respond and act like a brat a la Lane 😂

So you oversee social media and decide the right way and wrong way? Looks like he's doing it the right way as he's done a really good job with not very much to work with the last two years. He's young and full of energy and his players love it and look at how well he's recruiting. Sometimes you just have to give credit where credit is due whether you like it or not. I'm not a South Carolina fan but I have to give credit to the fact that he's getting a lot of attention and he's won some big games this year. It will be interesting to see how he does when he has several years of recruiting under his belt. Every coach is made aware of social media and uses it as motivation when it needs to be used in such a way. He was well aware of all the social media and others pointed out that Tennessee was basically a lock to get into the playoffs because all they had to do was play a terrible South Carolina and Vanderbilt team. It was all over this board as well as everyone here was planning on the Vols by "fiddy" or more so that they could make a statement to the playoff committee. Go back and look at the old posts about how the game wasn't just already won but that Tennessee was going to run up the score for style points. He had every right to be pissed and say something after that 63 to 38 beat down

Right?

Well I didn't love Kiffin's "classy" approach, so am I allowed to take a dump on Shame Beamer? No? Yes? Don't care, I'm doing it anyway. He's a bratty little punk who whines about wanting respect at 8-4. Dude's out there taunting Tennessee fans after winning 15 games in two years. "Good luck in your bowl game." What a jerkass. He's writing checks left and right and oh BOY am I going to be there for it when his ass gets cashed in.

He better knuckle up next year when he has to come to Neyland. I want Tennessee to leave just enough of his remains on the field for the coroner to make a positive ID.

Treat the South Carolina game like Alabama is rolling into town next year, full hostility from 6 hours pregame til 2 hours postgame.

And average guys finish last in college football. He may have a couple of shiny moments to remember this year for discussion /interviews after he’s dismissed as coach in a few years. Best advice is keep your mouth shut, head down and win football games. Oneupsmansip never prolonged anyone’s career

He's their combination of Dooley/Butch all rolled into one. Son of a legendary coach, but can't keep himself from saying stupid stuff.

Probably Ainges alternate Twitter personality
Side note…I heard Ainge say yesterday “well you can now no longer trust any info you get on Twitter” in reference to Elon’s takeover. I literally laughed out loud thinking just how naive and uninformed would a person have to be to think TWITTER HASN'T BEEN THE MAJOR SOURCE OF MISINFORMATION FOR YEARS😂😂. I have zero issues with EA …just thought that was very embarrassing for him to think such a “misinformed” thought. Otherwise …if you attack a coach who just beat our pants off…expect a little dusting off yourself. JMO.

Dude will be out of a job in 2 years, you can book it. Both us and Clempson will have no mercy next year. And his offense was completely lost all year until by some miracle Rattler woke up apparently. I’m annoyed we lost to such an insignificant program
