Prayers for the victims families. I hope all these idiots who want to try this get caught.

CNN was showing pictures of the shooter this morning. It's bad enough that he did what he did. I really hate to see the bastard wearing Tennessee gear.

Obama says shootings were a “heartbreaking” circumstance for Marines who had served their country.

Really? Not an act of terrorism?

Being a member of the Armed Forces, we are itching/begging to take the war to these guys. They are barely being touched where they are and it is giving them a lot of time/money to recruit within our borders. This will only keep happening as long as OBama continues to not let us do our jobs and defend this country. Shooting 4 warriors through glass while they are sitting at their desks...absolute coward. Thoughts and prayers to the families that this chicken s*** killed.

On to my next point, is it ironic that military members that defend the freedoms of this country, specifically the right to bear arms, are not permitted to carry when going to work??? It is prohibited to bring a firearm to a federal installation, however, ISIS has openly reported that it is targeting military members and their families. We are encouraged to remove all signs of military affiliation from our social media accounts/bumper stickers/etc in hopes that we will be overlooked. Just last week, I was briefed that it may be a good idea to differ the times I leave for work everyday and take different routes to throw off anyone trying to figure out that I'm affiliated with the military. I for one (and I know I'm not alone) will continue to be proud of my military service and won't hide it but I do think there needs to be a petition or law passed that we are allowed to bear arms when traveling to our jobs and be able to defend ourselves.

Imagine if these marines were also armed...things would have gone much differently. I promise you they would know how to use them.

Who cares? What he said is correct

Or it could have resulted in more deaths. There is no way to know for sure. I'm not against them being armed but that doesn't automatically make everyone safer

Thank you for your service to our country. Please keep your head up and eyes open. Yesterday really proved to me that things like this can happen anywhere.

PJ you are correct in saying that we don't know for sure if it would have saved any lives if they were armed. Personally I think it would have saved at least one but that's my personal opinion. I think I would like for them to be armed though to have an opportunity to defend themselves in this kind of situation. JMO

If you have ever been involved in an attack, where the shooter is trying to take your life, it is LOUD and chaotic and things happen very fast. You think about your kids/spouse, but most of all, you think I will do everything I can to not die. The number one thing you will want, is a gun. I promise you. Finding cover/concealment is important but it doesn't stop them from continuing to shoot and no desk or window or wall made of sheetrock is going to stop rounds from an assault rifle.

In a perfect world I would agree. However if my wife was in the parking lot loading up the kids I'm not sure I want a huge firefight going on

I myself, would trust that marine far more than that of a crazy nut.

Didn't realize it had to be either/or. I wouldn't necessarily trust either work my family's safety when bullets start flying and self preservation kicks in

The sooner a terrorist is dealt with, the better the situation.

This is a terrible situation. I used to be a military recruiter and let me just say, being threatened is not that uncommon. The recruiting office that sits in Times Square was bombed at one point and another recruiter was stabbed in her office. I knew of someone who's office was set on fire, brick thrown threw a window and also someone was shot at but thankfully not hurt.

I dealt with protesters (American) on a weekly basis, one branch showed up to work one day and there were print outs of all the soldiers names who have been killed in this war glued to their office windows. All in the great state of Tennessee.

I always knew to watch my back and look for suspicious activity. All this being said, it was one of the most rewarding jobs I've ever had. Seeing the pride on a young man/woman's face after they enlisted was amazing. Also seeing how proud parents were of their kids for making the sacrifice to join the service. Joining the service is a life changing event, I hate seeing what happened to these 4 Marines.

If they don't let them wear guns they should not be required to wear the uniform to work. More qualified to carry weapons than the police.

I can see your point but I think someone with training is going to be better with aim than most.

Crazy...one of my best friends lives in there. Would be the last place you would expect to find an Islamic extremist. Just proves they are everywhere, in our own backyard.

They showed them setting up at the old Food Lion on Hixson Pike and that's when it became even more real to me. I drive past that location almost daily. When I saw the neighborhood it was a slap in the face almost.

I will never understand liberal thinking. Lets don't shoot back, someone might get hurt.

Exactly. There's never an argument from that side about stopping these terrorist, its always us having a gun to defend yourself isn't the answer.

1) I'm not a liberal. Just want to help since you seem to need simple labels to make it easier

2) the safety of my family is paramount. If they are the ones that could possibly be hurt by an action them I will side with not doing it
