it definitely puts many at a big disadvantage because they are all lumped in together. Hurts the willingness to give by those who could really help. Something I struggle with as wellI agree. And I have to work hard to not have bitterness towards those people, because they have a created a perception that all who need help are lazy and entitled.
That is why we constantly must have new laws. Why? I’ve never defended the lenders other than to say they are doing nothing illegal.
The responsibility rests with the individual.
That is why we constantly must have new laws.
The concept of "if it ain't illegal then by all means do it, it's none of my business" is exactly why we have to have laws.
Also why we occasionally have to rectify past wrongs even when those wrongs were "legal" at the time.
Meh. I am upset about people taking advantage and exploiting what you would call stupid people... esp. with the help of govt in the case of student loans. As far as alleged COVID price gouging, that is a bit hairy and harder to prove, so I'm not going to advocate for more govt intervention there. But it is interesting to note that some of you feel it is justifiable to profit in some questionable ways as long as it is legal and not necessarily ethical. So we’re back to you being mad for stupid people?
