Idk but god I hope peterman gets healty he may be our best option if furgy or dobbs cant take over. WORLEY IS MENTALLY DONE AND YOU CANT COME BACK FROM THAT.

Uhhhhh..... Really? Did you watch Peterman in the Florida game? And Worley? If I had to pick between those two who had issues between the ears it's definitely NOT Worley.:peace2:

3 games and Worley is mentally done? Pray tell. Worley was fine at managing the offense and making decent decisions in throwing the ball while Peterman was lost from the get go (poor guy).

Yes he looked WAY BETTER then worley before he injured his hand.

I wish Peterman the best of luck but he is most likely a 3rd or 4th string QB moving forward. The performance down in Gainesville was the absolute worst I have witnessed. Ferg or Dobbs are the future. It may be in Peterman's best interest to transfer if he wants a real shot at playing time.

The coaches also thought Peterman was the answer versus Florida. With Worley's performance of late, it would be wise to burn a redshirt and get one of them some playing time. With South Alabama coming to town, I think Saturday we will showcase one of our 2 freshmen.

I'm not sure we should definitely assign Peterman to the ash heap of history based on his first half ever of meaningful snaps against the best defense in the country. I wish he had gotten the start against Austin Peay. Worley's just bad, and although Peterman is worse right now, I still have to believe he has more upside --I hope. I'm not sure Worley will ever get any better.

Maybe a freshman can save the day.

We are not competing for a championship or a top tier bowl, so I say yes. Lets get this figured out this year so that we go into next year with a leader at QB. It will also help recruiting showing in year 1 Butch plays freshman.

Coach can't just say ah hell this season's screwed let's plan for next year. He has to play the people who give us the best CHANCE at winning, no matter how small that chance is, while also planning for next year and the next. The seniors would be pissed if CBJ had your mentality.

+1... I had high hopes for Peterman but it just doesn't look like he is the guy...

I don't think it was completely abysmal but Worley is a lot better prepared for the game altho I hated seeing that (1st) pick that wasn't very assuring.

No 3 here and the games last year.plus both coaches have had doubts on him. That my opinion

I'm not suggesting you're wrong that he won't come into form both mentally and physically (cuz I doubt he will) but with the new system and no wide outs I think he needs another game or 2 to make that judgement.

That is fine and I hope he proves me wrong. Think about it though, he could not beat out Worley in the spring or fall and once he got his chance he looked like the most fragile QB in TN history. Now he is injured which means Ferguson will get his reps. Does not bode well imo.

I don't necessarily agree with you. In fact, to the contrary, I thought Worley showed signs of confidence and authority as he actually stepped into his throws against Florida. He also looked more collected as he scanned the defense before each snap...again, just my opinion.

The freshmen will do great if........they have playmakers who can run routes and catch the ball.......if they can get everyone lined up and run the offense..........if they can check into a good play and not a disaster (Peterman's 1st turnover).........if they can gain the confidence and respect of teammates.

Maybe they can.......maybe they will but not now. It's up to Butch to make the call and not the bandwagon fan hype of the day.

If they didnt doubt him he wouldnt of been pulled for peterman

That is not necessarily true. They judged it by best week of practice. We weren't generating big plays. No one said what involved Peterman having the better week. He could have had a few 25+ yard passes in practice where Worley threw short. That is what he does. One thing I know for sure that they have doubt in is his running ability. Peterman is faster and he actually had the stones to pull it back and try to run against Florida on the read option. That had a big factor in it as well.

Actually jones said peterman looked the best in practice before the florida week. And the only reason i believe worley won the job is because he didnt throw picks in the fall practices.

Put one of the freshmen in the game in mop up and see how he looks. If he has an epic meltdown then try the other one. Hopefully one of them will show flashes of being the man. We will have to suffer the missed reads and turnovers that will come from playing a freshman but maybe we have lightning in a bottle. We may not have the next Manning but we may have the next C. Clausen. Please God, don't give us Rick Clausen, we have suffered enough.

I mentioned this in another thread, but one bad half of football does not mean you suck. Peterman may never be a good quarterback, but you can't tell that from the UF game. As I also mentioned in another thread, see Erik Ainge vs LSU in 2005.

Agreed, Worley is not going to WOW you, but he is the best manager of the offense for now and gives us the best chance to win. I think CBJ was trying to give the offense a spark by starting NP and it back fired big time unfortunately.
