Listen, Vol fans! I really don't believe Tennessee has a secret weapon. If we did, he would have been playing all along. If CBJ says or implies that neither Freshman are ready to go, I accept that at face value. However, I do believe that either Freshmen qb will get live game experience either as mopup duty or "Let's see if either one of you freshmen qbs has the touch!" duty. I'm confident that CBJ has way more football coaching experience and expertise than ANYBODY else on this message board.
Throw ferguson in and see if he can be a play maker. If he is like peterman and gets shell shocked then we can always go back to Worley. If Ferguson can play then maybe we can make a bowl and win a couple we aren't supposed to.
I actually think the freshman Qbs are going to be used Sat. CBJ sees he has nothing to lose and a lot to gain. He's made the right calls up to now and is prepared to finish out the season with a Freshman Qb.
If you mean the class that will sign in Feb. 2014, they do not have any commitments at this time, nor were they going to because we had other positions with more need. They felt that with the four we have, it wouldn't be necessary. For the class that will sign in Feb. 2015, I'm certain they will.
Id take a tyler bray qb over aj mccarron any day of the week
one of them will be getting prepared to take over should Worley go down. that may lead to one getting reps this Saturday. depends on how the game goes.
Neither are ready to get snaps at this point. If Worley went down and one had to take over the offense would look worse than last week's first half. Not a good running game and inexperience at WR not a good mix with true freshmen QBs that are not ready to play. Would be really, really ugly..
I think many are willing to throw this season away if it means either of the fr qbs use this season to get live action so they are ready for next year. I am not sure where I stand.
I think Jones probably will and should keep Worley as starter until the WR's come around more. If the passing game improves then he obviously keeps playing. If it becomes undeniable that he's the hold up then someone else moves up.
I do trust the coaches.
But how many times have you seen a back-up QB be forced into a game and he turns out to be THE GUY? No one -- not even the coaches -- knew it, because for some guys the switch never flips on until they are in a real game. I think that's what all of us are hoping for.
