Should butch do it?

Worley will start and play most of the game if not all depending on the score barring an injury. If the game is well in hand, bUTch will play the next man up. The starting qb will be taking some hits in the next few weeks, so there is really no choice. I just hope the game plays out in a way that allows UT to get it together before the meat of the schedule is here.
GBO

Whoever it is, we have to dial up some pass plays. Screw being a good sportsman. We have a bad QB situation. We have to open up some pass plays if Ferg or Dobbs gets in. We can not just run 15 dive plays.

Idk but god I hope peterman gets healty he may be our best option if furgy or dobbs cant take over. WORLEY IS MENTALLY DONE AND YOU CANT COME BACK FROM THAT.

This is a ridiculous comment. Worley did not seem mentally done when he came in the second half. Quite the opposite.

Or he just made to plays agianst busted coverage. Florida was using there second team secondary

Not really.

VHIII was still in there. Purifoy was out, that was it.

With that said, Florida's 2nd String secondary is better than just about most teams 1st Team. They've got an embarrassment of riches in the secondary.

I like our secondary, but their 2nd team in entirety would easily start over ours.

Whoever plays better have thick skin and should not read volnation. The coaches on here are ruthless....regardless of the situation.

Look I don't think Peterman or Worley either one are necessarily done this year, and certainly neither one has taken the bull by the horns. And from everything I've heard about the freshmen, they aren't ready either, but we've got to have a backup for Worley so my guess is they'll throw one in and see if he can swim against USa.

But if you do look at the production in whatever time Worley and Peterman have split this year, you have Worley with an efficiency rating of 128.21 (6TD, 3INT) and Peterman with an efficiency rating of 42.52 (0TD, 2INT). You could argue that Worley had more first string guys playing with him, but you'd also have to consider that Peterman has probably thrown against more second or third string defenses.

Here is my take. It is obvious to me, barring some epiphany from Worley, we have not seen an SEC caliber QB on the field this season. I think UT needs to explore the Freshmen to see if they have an SEC QB on the roster. In my mind, I would want to know if I need to go sweet talk more QB's for next year's class. I don't know if UT even has a QB commit for next year. So, if there isn't a SEC QB on the roster now, there won't for next year either. UT needs find out what it has at this position for the future, not this season.

If they were ready to put out there, they would be out there.
Ready or not, they are 1 play away of being FORCED to play. One of them must get snaps in this Saturday or I will have some doubts about CBJ. Regardless, GBO.

Worley looked pretty decent in the second half against Florida, compared to Peterman in the first half. I wouldn't say he is mentally done at all.

I'm pretty sure that we will see Dobbs, and/or Ferguson at some point this Saturday. With the games we have coming up, CBJ has to know that one, or both, of them have to be ready to step in when needed.

Worley CAN get it done. He is figuring things out and he might get it together. I won't say a word about Worley until later in the season. I was quick to discard Crompton and found that he needed consistency and coaches backing him. Crompton was not a world beater but by the time his last year was over I felt he was at least average, after the lightbulb clicked. I hope Worley gives some people on here a nice bowl of crow at seasons end.

Hope being the key word because I don't know what he is capable of any more than any of you do.

Crompton had a top of the line QB coach teaching him. Kiffin was an arse, but he could coach QB's. What he did to Crompton vs UGA single handedly made 95% of VolNation fall in love with him.

If you mean the class that will sign in Feb. 2014, they do not have any commitments at this time, nor were they going to because we had other positions with more need. They felt that with the four we have, it wouldn't be necessary. For the class that will sign in Feb. 2015, I'm certain they will.

One, if not both will see playing time IMO.

If Worley just losses his helmet, than Ferguson or Dobbs will go in.

If Worley got hurt (Do not want to see ANY Vol get hurt) then it becomes the Ferggy and Dobbs show!

All you guys who want to see them both will get your wish this season, just be careful what you wish for! JMO

My money is on Ferguson seeing the field first, then Dobbs.

.

What he said.

Tell that to Max Wittek & Cody kessler. I know that is irrelevant to your point, I just hate to see love given to Lame. lol

Or our coaches were proud of the way he handled the situation and said as much after the game. He made plays he was supposed to make which is an improvement. Would you rather him not make those plays?

Oh wait, you would still complain.

Start AJ Johnson in beast mode formation.

It couldn't look much worse than what we have seen to this point.

If Ferguson or Dobbs can't beat out Peterman and Worley by season's end, then they are both terrible as well or the coaches are incredibly stubborn. Neither of which bodes well for this program.

And I don't believe Worley or Peterman will turn a corner and become competent either.
