Slow playing recruits

But Kiffin signed two of the top runningbacks in the country for the 2009 class last March and also signed Nukeese who were were estatic about at the time and stole two commitments from LSU durning February. Where Dooley on the other hand got us only Rogers Loften Hunter and Stone but also lost Ambles Willis and Calvin Smith and let a commitment that we have had for 2 years get away from us Eric MacLain. Im not saying that were screwed with Dooley as our coach im just saying he hasnt done anything at all to impress me and I dont see what he has done to impress any of yall either. Kiffin also put together a great staff. Dooley put together a decent one maybe they will turn out to be good tho everyone has to start somewhere. My point is I just dont see our football program the same way right now as I did with Kiffin this time last year. Kiffin brought excitment to the program and didnt even have to win a game. And it will take Dooley to have an upset win over Oregon and Florida to bring the same kind of excitment to our program that Kiffin had before last season ever started.

Dude, anyone can give a great speech, but backing it up is more important than what you say.

For the record, I am not endorsing cody's comments. I only created this thread because I was venting and a lil frustrated. It wasn't because I didn't have faith in Dooley or his staff.

Ok put it this way if your a high school kid and your being recruited who is going to appeal to you more Lane Kiffin or Derek Dooley? I think that is a no brainer Kiffin by far Kiffin made a name for him self known Dooley hasnt I bet that at least 50% of college football fans dont know who Derek Dooley is.

It's simple. Wilcox's defense will attract head hunters that beleive in team defense. Dooley's offense will attract people who love the pro-style offense. How the team does this year make the difference between 3 and 5 star recruits. Either way the recruits will come. QUIT FREAKIN OUT MAN!!!

This is going to be my last post on this thread. Kiffin goes after better players than Dooley does you cant argue with that at all. Go look at Floridas top 15 players for this year and tell me how many of them Dooley has offered.

We know what Kiffin was selling here at UT, and that was USC. Dooley is selling UT here at UT. So, which program would you rather be a part of?? One that wants to be something else, or one that wants to stay with it's strength, tradition??

Haha so? People know Lane Kiffin for the wrong reasons. He made himself look like an idiot while here at UT. Sure some liked Kif's "Swagger" but his reputation was not one that everyone liked. That's one of the reasons James Stone decided on UT and why Marlon Brown did not. Dooley will make a good name for himself IN TIME.

Kiffin went after talent, but he didn't know how to address needs.

I think I would rather go to a BCS bowl every year than go to the Peach Bowl or the Outback Bowl. Kiffin wasnt trying to turn us into USC hes was trying to make us the USC of the SEC which means he was going to try to make us dominate the SEC year after year and make it to where no1 could compete with us.

Kiffin would have turned our colors into Gold and Garnet if he could have.

Dont respond to Cody. Tennessee survived for years without a bunch of hey look at me players. Everyone thinks it was the talent that dropped off. Negative. Our team lost perspective of what it means to play in Neyland Stadium. What I saw in the Orange and White game was a team that got its pride back. These boys will give thier all for Tennessee with Dooley coaching. Win or Lose they will be fun to watch simply cause they love being a Vol.

When tickets are going for 30 dollars when we play Bama this year and there are twice as many Bama fans in the stadium this year than there are Tennessee fans. And our commitment average on Rivals is about a 2 and a half star will yall still believe that Dooley is gonna bring us back?

none of us know if dooley will succeed but you have to at least give the guy a chance.... he didn't exactly walk in to the best situation in the world

I bet that 90 percent of our starters this year are going to be the players that Kiffin got for us.

Fail.

Most would probably agree with..

Most of the Kiffin recruits either..

A) have been dismissed.

B) left the team due to thier "personal problems"

You should probably go root for USC bro. It will be easier for you, than watching our team for the next 2 years.

Kiffin went after talent, but he didn't know how to address needs.

Fail.

Our needs were be fully addressed had Kiffin stayed.

QB- woulda had Bray, Simms, and Nance

DT- we would had Brown, Copeland, Willis, and Smith.

OL- woulda had Green, James, Cullen, Pair, Fulton, and Robinson

his class was gonna be nasty and all needs were gonna be filled.

Was Kiffin going after Nash Nance? I thought that was something that developed post-Kiffin.

The offer to Nance came post-Kiffin, and he committed the next week. Dooley got both, not Kiffin.

Orgeron is the one who laid the seed and got both to visit. The only question is whether DaRick would’ve come, because we had Milton, Ambles, Meline, Hunter (who was coming under either staff) and possibly Prater (who would’ve visited). But anything to suit your anti-Kiffin agenda, right?
