While they're going to mix it up on uniforms no matter what, I gotta wonder why they're donning darker uniforms during the hottest part of the season. It probably makes less of a difference than I'd think, though.

its fine of people like them, but some of these responses are ridiculous. Why have a fan message board if you arent allowed to give an opinion on something like a jersey. I mean fanā€™s opinions dont matter on playcalling/personnel either but people give then anyway. If the players love them thats fine. Eventually they may just make the switch permanently to smokey grays. So be it.

My first impression was I did not like the orange on the shoulder pads until I realized they are to honor "The Artful Dodger". I was in school at UT and was at the game when Condredge started. The man is greatness and emboldens what makes someone a VFL!!. I am happy they are wearing these on Saturday.

After giving it a second look, I agree with you about the orange patch.
Less is more IMO
Also, see the second image on top. The Orange legs are cringyšŸ˜„
What's cringy are the pants that look like bicycle shorts, pulled halfway up the thigh.

I donā€™t like that either, but when I say something I feel like Iā€™m screaming for the kids to get off my lawn
I remember players used to get a penalty for "improper equipment" when they did that, or if they have their jerseys rolled up. Guess they changed the rule or just overlook it. Either way, it's just stupid looking. I could see an inch or 2 above the knee, but it's getting excessive and looking terrible.

There was a day, back in the day, when no one threw the ball. There was a day when it was an all caucasian game in the SEC. Change happens, and mostly for the better. Embrace it! Love it!

Yes, "There was a day, back in the day, when no one threw the ball. There was a day when it was an all Caucasian game in the SEC" and yes change did happen, all while they were wearing the Orange/White.

My love for the Orange/White will never change. I wear the Orange when I watch the Vols on TV, I wear the Orange in Neyland that aint' changing.

Embrace the O/W! Love the O/W!

who the heck celebrates a 51th anniversary? old married people, that's who. why use a uniform that CH never worn?

I see what they were going for but they shouldn't have mixed the throwback concept with the SG. It's fine for one game but it won't hurt my feelings if we never saw them again. I'm fine if they want to make a legit throwback, but imo keep the concepts seperate.

They look better than I thought when we saw the retail ones. Still not my favorite alt though.
