So proud of my home state

They are dying in HUGE numbers from ingestion. Nice try with goal shifting by seizing on skin contact, which was just an example of its lethality. But I wasn’t born yesterday.
If you espouse legalization of fentanyl, you are worse than foolish.
How many deaths from straight injection of fentanyl?

I espouse freedom which it seems you also find foolish

I am a solid conservative and a classic liberal from waaaay back. If you are too crazy to get MY vote, you will never see political power. Americans want liberty. They don’t want lawless anarchy

Who said anything about lawless anarchy?

People are dying usually because some crap drug dealer laced some other drug with it or sold it as xMG when it was really yMG. What makes you think people would rush out and start doing fentanyl if it were legal tomorrow?

Rousseau and the state of nature sound good when reading, just like the Communist Maifesto on the opposite extreme. Both are a LOUSY basis for a working society however.
But seriously, I am beginning to realize that arguing with a libertarian, with whom I agree on such much; is even more pointless than arguing with a progressive with which I have almost no common ground.

What does he have to do with this discussion? He didn't die from fentanyl he died from an OD of propofol and I'm pretty sure he had a script for it.
sorry i had my opioids confused. But I am not the one saying they would legalize fentanyl. Tell me you think it should remain illegal and I think our discussion would end resolved

I don't think it should remain illegal, I have seen no benefit from drugs being illegal. Can you provide an example of a benefit?

Let’s just make this simple. Should fentanyl be legally available to any adult who wants to purchase it? Yes or No?

Yes, I don't know how much more clear I could have made myself. Now, what benefits have we as a country gotten from it being illegal?

Aren’t liberals always saying „If it just saves ONE child…“?

I have never said that in my whole life.

I don't recall hearing it.

I do recall GOPers running on common sense and the need to focus on real world every day problems, the economy, infrastructure, jobs, tax policy. And then them getting into office and deciding oh my gosh! there's three kids who see these every year we must drop everything else to stop the (pretend) crisis of (a miniscule number) kids being harmed (even though no one has evidence of it).

This was the some of the same argument that was used during the Crack epidemic to create special sentencing guidelines for buying/selling crack. I wonder what MENSA candidate wrote that crime bill?

We’ve had 3 of the most notorious child murders in the country in the last 3 years. I think it’s a reasonable argument that when we use resources to crack down on drag queens/ pot/ gambling/ consensual adult prostitution / moonshining…….and about 20 other things I could name , we’re taking our eye off the ball.

Why should republicans focus on the economy? The Democrats sure as heck don’t? And they are the ones who could actually do something about it.
