So proud of my home state

The problem is who decides what’s inappropriate or grooming. Maybe I think a pizza place with rides and talking robot animals is a hot spot for grooming. It doesn’t mean I can run someone’s Chuck E Cheese out of business. Of course children shouldn’t be brought to a drag show at a bar. But the same government enforcing this is the one that came after my uncles shine still and it will come after my gun/guns and something that’s important to you. No one wins by letting the government regulate taste.
I hope your uncles shine still wasn’t on public property. Remember that they can do whatever they want, legally of course, at a private venue.

The public/private detail is an important factor.

What if a local community theatre wants to put on a production of The Producers? Do they have to make it 18+?

I’m not sure. It’s now part of the Nanatahala National Forest so not much more public than that. If people want to walk down the street at a Pride parade or attend a concert in drag that’s their first Amendment right. If my child asks me about it, it’s on me to teach and explain, not on another tax payer to have to live their life behind closed doors.

I’ve noticed there’s one poster in particular that really only comments on posts about trannys, cross dressers and just the biggest weirdos in our country.

So again, what's the purpose behind this legislation?
I think it’s to keep dudes dressed as scantily clad women from gyrating in front of minors on tax payer funded public property.

Oh it also helps climate change and inflation probably.

I have totally had to rethink my one man play. It's titled Governor Bill Lee:
How one man took his mansiere to the Governors Mansion.

If that's what you think, then you're not paying attention.

It's intellectually lazy, tbh.

Then come out and say it instead of vaguely referencing it like a timid little teenager.

You're new here. This is the hot button issue recently.

I understand that. I agree with you. I’m not bringing my kids to any such parade. This issue hit really close to home here. My representative helped write the bill and another acquaintance of mine spoke in front of the Assembly about it. Folks on both sides of the aisle here were against using our public venue this way. It was refreshing to see both sides come together on this.

Don’t the people who are doing the gyrating, have rights on the property that their taxes pay for as well? If they use your tax dollars to bring a drag troupe to your kids school I’ll march down there with you. Until then, it’s kind of like anything else. Don’t like it, don’t go near it. If they come ”gyrating” past the swimming pool in your subdivision….. call the cops. But I’m willing to bet that doesn’t happen.
