So, when is the press conference?

Nope, just being honest - the style is not new and has been tried and failed. It was an appropriate question to ask and one that many others probably wanted to ask but didn't. It is also what many Lady Vol fans have been asking.

He could have been really flippant with the question and named the coaches that tried it and how one refused to change and was fired and the other adapted and then said, what makes you think you can do what they couldn't do - but he asked a simple pointed question.
yeah but Adams just wrote a hit piece disguised as support about her yesterday. everyone knows he meant it in a pejorative manner.

Cool. So you fire a coach that has won 20+ games a year while leading the program but didn't bring in many players while the COVID players were still around the program and had 2 probable All-Americans committed in 2025 and 2027, had a former McDonald All-American who was a former highschool teammate of Rickea Jackson landing on campus last Monday but canceled due to the coaching change, not to mention was on the finalist list for 9 other top players in the class of 2025 who she has built relationships with over the last 4-5 years and you pick up a coach that has never recruited at this level nor has relationships with Top Tier athletes and will need 4-5 years to establish and build those relationships with potential student-athletes and their parents to start getting them in. That seems like a brilliant plan. What could go wrong....

I did not realize all that. WOW.

Never said it could not go wrong. However, it has not gone where we wanted in the last 9 years. Time to get out of the rut and change the game a bit. I think we can do better than standing aground dribbling the ball and then throwing the ball away. I am also tired of watching a defense that can not Gard anyone anywhere on the folly.

Exactly .....where was this team ranked yesterday at conclusion of the season ? How do you think this team would do next year with the departure of Jackson ? This program was driven into the ditch and buried .This program needed a change and thankfully we have one......

GO LADY Vols !!!!!!!

which coaches?

If Kim's husband is valuable enough to be an assistant on the Marshall men's team and can be an asset to both Kim and the players at UT, them go for it. My only reservation would be the question of how well they work together and if the family dynamics allow them to accept the power structure. Easier when the spouses are co-hc, but that isn't a likely scenario at this time.

Maybe they plan to start a family soon and he's okay being Domestic Dad. Or maybe there's an available coaching job close to Knoxville.
If my wife made that much money, you can bet your 🍑 I’d be a “stay at home dad!”
😎

I’ve been seeing some media say that she’s just gonna have to change the system and get a slow it down post to play in the SEC, in my opinion I think she needs to stick with what’s won. Bruce pearl sounded like a madman when he said we were gonna press the whole floor and shoot it early and often, and in his first year we were a 2 seed. When urban Meyer went to Florida people said his “spread option” system wouldn’t work against the SEC, and he crushed them. Embrace the system and see what happens

This team was were about 320 other programs wanted to be, a Sixth seed in the NCAA tournament and that was playing without their All-American and probable number 3 WNBA draft pick for 8 full games in the beginning of the season. Rankings come from coaches and AP voters who have a stick up their a** about giving mid majors visibility that could never compete with Tennessee and those teams were seeded 10-13 in the tournament for a reason. If the top 25 rankings of teams like Fairfield, Richmond UNLV for most of the season doesn't clue you in on the ranking system there is not much more I can say because those teams although they had good records played low net and rpi teams for wins and should have never been in those rankings.

It would be the cleanest house you have ever seen, My butt would have on the apron, jamming out to Motley Crue, mopping and vacuuming on the daily. NO COMPLAINTS.
Ha! I’d hire ready maid to do all that and I’d be at the bar...err, I mean, running errands all day.
😜

The top one is Tennessee and the Bottom Marshall. See the difference. That is what this new coach has to do better at. Kellie did not lose to a team outside of Quadrant 1. Translate that anyway you would like, but Marshall seemed to do really well against those quadrant 4 teams with this press we are getting ready to see.

Beautiful wife coming home bringing a fat paycheck; skybox tickets for bball & basketball; Morgan Wallen playing at dinner parties on work-release weekends; on first-name basis with the halftime frisbee dogs and the cup-stacking unicycle Lady: 24-hour access to ice bath; free high tops; unlimited meal ticket to Smokey grill; recruiting trips to the Riviera...

This must be just like livin' in paradise,
And I don't want to go home..

Lol, Atleast she didnt kiss the players. Who was doin that? Was that Mullen's wife that kissed the players before every game?
at least he didn’t sleep with her players or assistant coaches like another coach in the Sec.

Hey man, I'm right there with you in terms of being a bit shocked by the outcome. At this point, I'm at a place where I like the energy she's bringing, and I'm certain she understands she's got a lot to prove. This isn't a place where anything resembling mediocrity will be tolerated.

And though it won't put his job in danger by any means, I think Danny will absolutely have to eat this—and in a very public way—if things go sideways. I really can't imagine him taking a bigger risk. I'm trying not to be a doom and gloom guy, because I don't think the program will be lost at sea forever if Kim doesn't work out, but certainly Danny cannot go this route again if he ends up with egg on his face. I wish we knew if it was because a lot of people said no or just because he wanted to be bold.
He wanted to be bold. Look no further than his hiring history. He’s never hired a well-known established coach. It’s mostly worked out for him but at some point in the future, I think it would be wise to go after big fish.

I was a big big fan of Pat when she became our Lady Vol's coach all there way through her retirement. It was alway a pleasure and an education when we would have her talk to us at the Atlanta Big Orange Club meetings. She was and will always remain a one of a kind person and coach. While I closely followed her and her teams, I was not so diligent in following the coaching tree resulting from her years of coaching. Could someone provide me a list of top 5 coaches who player for her and where they were most successful?

Her style and personality coupled with the UT prestige will attract plenty of high level recruits given her exciting brand of WBB, I expect her to be a huge success gathering quality players. I also expect her to get some players that might not meet the standard definition of elite out of HS and the portal, but are players that fit her system to a T (no pun intended), kinda like they do at IU and Gonzaga and Iowa State etc…She has a big hill to climb in the SEC but I think she can climb it and would rather have her than the coach KY just hired, who I don’t think will be super successful in the SEC. This hire could end up being great vision. Just my thoughts…
Are the fish biting?
