So, when is the press conference?

Good gracious those two coaches ran the program in the ditch and buried it ....there is no other way to say it .

Neither you nor anyone else on this board know who was : on the short list ;was interviewed ;nor who turned who down.We do know who was selected .

When did I say I knew who was on the list? What are you jumping down my neck for?

Everyone staying can indicate a lot of things: Confidence in new coach; reluctance to move; eagerness to try new system,; high character as identified when recruited; love for the Lady Vol program, or other reasons.

It does speak well of the culture established.

You as much as said that coaches of any worth ,ie,big named ,successful known "Winners " would not consider coming to Tennessee due to the success of Holly and Jolly taking the LV's to NCAA tourney every year .You do not know that and neither do I and no one else either ......

Because let's face facts. Warlick made 3 Elite Eights, a few Sweet 16s, etc., and never missed the tournament. It wasn't enough. Harper made two Sweet 16s in five years, and never missed the tournament. It wasn't enough. I'm not saying that letting either go was a mistake, I'm only saying that it demonstrates the severity of expectations by many of the people around the program.
I kinda feel like this is only the narrative in a vacuum, though. It's pretty easy to add context to both coaches' tenures at Tennessee to explain why they were on downward trajectories and, of course, why they were let go.

Not like our program is all that right now. To be better prob won’t take much, I mean this past team ended up not ranked again, it again only beat Wisconsin Green Bay when this isn’t the NFL and lost to NC state. Expectations at UT should be win or leave, if I know that, I am sure a female that grew up watching the LV like every other girl in the country did, knows that is where this program belongs. Not hoping to win 20 games and win 1 game in the tourney. I love the expectations of winning
And teams like Fairfield, Richmond, and UNLV were ranked and wouldn't be able to compete on the same court as Tennessee. Talking heads come up with those rankings, not the people who count like the committee that placed us as a 6 seed. If I remember right, NC State also beat Stanford and Texas much more convincingly than they did Tennessee on their way to the final four.

I would give up a child to see Jewel's part? Any help? (I actually don't have a child to give up though.)

Those staying has not been established yet . And ,just what do you mean when you use "established culture " ?

No, that's not what I said at all. I said I wouldn't be surprised to learn if that was the case, which is an upfront declaration of speculation. I never said I knew, and made it very clear I was only speculating. Of course I don't "know." I never claimed that I did.

As for what I said, I still assert it. Name me another women's basketball job in America, aside from possibly UConn, where making the tournament every year, and advancing in many of those years, gets you fired after 5-6 years.

Your just like all the other butthurt Kellie fans, you can't wait for the new coach to fail. Sad. I like an arrogant coach. Maybe supporting another team would work out better for you.

Nope, just being honest - the style is not new and has been tried and failed. It was an appropriate question to ask and one that many others probably wanted to ask but didn't. It is also what many Lady Vol fans have been asking.

He could have been really flippant with the question and named the coaches that tried it and how one refused to change and was fired and the other adapted and then said, what makes you think you can do what they couldn't do - but he asked a simple pointed question.

I can understand your point, but to counter, I would say that context only matters at a place like Tennessee. Or UConn. Possibly South Carolina, if they continue to grow expectations there. Certainly in the timeframes given to the two previous coaches - I don't think there are many schools who would react so strongly, or so quickly.

Well sir.maam or whatever I interpreted your comments as I posted . ...so assert away ....

Kim does need to work on her canned jokes 😔. Been there, baby!

I was impressed that, unlike White, she went out of her way not to dump on Kellie. She promised a different, faster-paced style of play without calling the previous results inferior.

Kim did indicate that she wouldn't be doing much or any adapting of her style. She's either being intentional in signaling confidence that her scheme will translate directly to the SEC, or she is totally committing to making it work and has no plans to change.

I would hate to see one of your dishonest posts. It is one perspective and obviously there are other perspectives to consider as well ......honest at that also....honestly .

Are we in agreement that success will basically hinge upon recruiting and building a staff that can teach defense?
Funny same ingredients for any program to seriously compete. The difference in competers and winners is the x and o(s) by coach and player executing(1.1 seconds). Got to have both to be the big dog.

What we have seen the last 8-9 years has failed. I am ready to try something that has a chance to improve on what we have recently seen. I think she will be successful. She will have to get the talent to do it. Kellie did not get the talent because she has always had difficulty in recruiting High School‘s best players. Hopefully, she can.
Cool. So you fire a coach that has won 20+ games a year while leading the program but didn't bring in many players while the COVID players were still around the program and had 2 probable All-Americans committed in 2025 and 2027, had a former McDonald All-American who was a former highschool teammate of Rickea Jackson landing on campus last Monday but canceled due to the coaching change, not to mention was on the finalist list for 9 other top players in the class of 2025 who she has built relationships with over the last 4-5 years and you pick up a coach that has never recruited at this level nor has relationships with Top Tier athletes and will need 4-5 years to establish and build those relationships with potential student-athletes and their parents to start getting them in. That seems like a brilliant plan. What could go wrong....

It has been used in the SEC with great success and even won a National Championship ......
