So who replaces Graham...

We need an Asian on staff. Not truly diverse until we get one.

Everyone that defends Jones Cincy staff recruiting keep shortning the Time, lol In a few months it will be "They only had 3 days" lol
Everyone who keeps defending Jays failure to secure a rb keeps blaming Dooley...Im not upset hes gone.

Stop the hand wringing and.....:cray: we are grown ass men! Attrition is the norm on college staffs these days, saban has lost three Assistants since NSD.

If you want loyalty get a dog.(preferably a bluetick hound)

Bye jg and don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya! :stinker2: :stinker2:

If TT passes the investigation then bring his backwards hat chest bumping towel waving ass back to rocky top...if not then let him go to the unemployment office

CBJ had to have known about this for a while (I would hope) and hopefully has a short list of people he is already talking to about it.

Wonder if Trooper came with his son to Junior Day? Surely this new with Jay didn't happen over night.....makes you wonder if there are some connections being made.

However, there is a reason he was on Colorado and Purdue's list and not big time programs that have our atmosphere and facilities.

What 'big time programs that have our atmosphere and facilities' were in the hunt for a coach this year? Auburn, Arkansas, and Wisconsin are the closest I can think of, and it's certainly open for debate that any of those schools made better hires than UT.

:loco:
Troop is available. Wouldn't skip a beat in recruiting and would likely be an upgrade. Brings more energy and relationships with upcoming recruits. Not the cleanest of clean though.

He was just here with his son (a recruit). May have already met with coach Jones. Hmm. (I do not know enough about his situation to know if this is a good idea or not.)

He brought in HIS guys, guys that know his system and how he coaches. Same guys that won with him the past. Proves that he is confident in their system and ability to coach it.

I'll take it.

The fact you even mention recruiting is a joke. What did he have, 2 1/2 weeks? He did a hell of a job.

2 and a half weeks???? He was hired on December 7th. His recruiting is below average for Tennessee.

Once again, what big time bowl games has he gone too and what big time teams has he beaten.

I know I'm labeled a nega, but I will have the wait and see approach. He does have a good résumé and record for someone of his history. However, there is a reason he was on Colorado and Purdue's list and not big time programs that have our atmosphere and facilities. I know we are down and not relevant, but what we offer before kids step on the field is second to none.

So my question to you is: What bigger jobs were open for him to be a candidate at this year? Tennessee seems like the biggest opening. Maybe Oregon, but he was already here when Kelly went to the Eagles. So...what "big time programs" had job openings, other than us, for him to be on their list? The man's a winner, everywhere he's been, and all coaches come from somewhere. I'm not saying he's the next Urban Meyer, but he came from Utah and Bowling Green. This guy has only had one season in which his team wasn't in the mix for a conference title. He's a winner, and he'll be a winner here. Now, I'll agree to scale it..as in I'm not expecting SEC titles and National Championship contention next year...BUT I'm sure we'll be well coached and look like it (unlike the last three years), and we'll win games.

I'm not trying to pump any sunshine, but go off what he's done. Everyone wants to point out failure (see Dooley's pre-TN record), but we get a guy that's a consistent winner and suddenly he hasn't proven anything. I don't get it.

Jay will be at his 3rd college coaching the same position in 3 years. This issue is all about money and nothing else.

Bad career move IMO unless he wants to be a career assistant... but it was his move to make. I am a little surprised that counter offers weren't made.

That assumes of course they weren't.

Keeping Graham didn't appear to have a very big effect on recruiting. That was one of the big reasons to keep him. North was a huge get but was there anyone else that Graham would have been a big factor for?

I would LOVE Trooper coming back! I love his energy that he brings to the field on saturdays, the practice field, and the recruiting trail! If he does come back that means we would have two CTT on our team! Coach Tommy Thigpen and Trooper Taylor!
