Just because you think it doesn't make it interesting no matter how bored. "A Cincy grad said" I need some attention today I know VolNation.

First of all, people saying that leveling off at 8-9 wins is OK epitomizes the thinking of the AD that has allowed us to massively underachieve as a sports entity.

Secondly, it's not surprising that many people think like fans and not rational humans and deride any comment that doesn't have Jones as the second coming of Lombardi. It's entirely reasonable that a guy who won about 8-10 games at his previous stops with lower level teams who were in the upper echelon in their conference would do a little worse at the most competitive and toughest league in the land.

some people on here are negative no matter what the question is.you are right . they do not have to read or post. some very unhappy people on here that do not like their own lives, so why not make others unhappy also.go vols.
And some people are so lonely they type the most inconsequential uninteresting things to say.

Further point. If the OP said that a Cincy guy told him that Jones would be wildly successful at UT, most of those critical here would cite this as a reason why Jones will be successful. But, since he's not, he has no credibility. Again, it's not surprising and very telling that Cincy fans are almost universally expressing the same opinion as the guy in the OP.

Fulmer was told to be in sec cg 1 n 3 years n now fans r sucking bj boys jock over leveling out at 8 or 9 wins.... omg vol fans r as complacent has the average American... don't shoot for the stars just get me to the moon n im okay ...

Wtf 8 games should be a bad season. If we hired a coach to top out at 8 wins we should be burning the ad dept down...

Then.again most r going along with the latest gun control bill.. demand higher than avg volnation... geez,........:finger3:

:eek:hmy:If this is not a bash thread, why post this like me and you sitting down and asking your opinion dont really matter time will tell has won at every level i know this is the almighty SEC, BUT LETS SEE WHAT HE CAN DO 8 OR 9 SOUNDS GOOD RIGHT NOW, after we get to 8 or 9 then we can start bi@ching about not winning 10.

Someone used to sleep during their
English class.

But to the OP: no I haven't spoken to any Cinci fans so I don't know their opinion on coach Jones.

Thanks, dad. So do you really find it that unacceptable to ask someone's opinion of our new coach? He didn't say he wouldn't support him either way, just wanted to know what they thought about him. I swear that some of you guys stay on here just to look for something that you can bi*ch about.

8-9 wins and people are happy & think it's awesome? WTF?

If we win 8 games in coach Jones's first year as our head coach I will be very happy. Obviously he has to continue to build from there, but with what we have had to put up with lately 8 wins would be a breath of fresh air and a step in the right direction. But no I don't think that's where anybody ultimately wants to be shooting for down the road after we have rebuilt.

I can go with that, easily. Just not digging the vibe of people being content with 8-9 wins continuing on. 10+ wins and contending for SECCG's & BCS inclusion should be expected.

I spoke to a guy who considered applying to Cincinnati once. We didn't talk about football, but if I had to guess, he liked CBJ. Probably thinks 8-10 wins is possible.

Cincy fans were pretty high on him in 2011 before the game at Neyland.

I know a couple of Cincy fans who were talking about a possible undefeated season next yr and their love for CBJ. That was during last season. I should ask them what they now.

Hearsay has a tendency to collect buckets of mocking, derisive laughter, snickering, and snorts, all covered with BS frosting.

So just because he graduated from Cinci, this automatically makes him a fortune teller?

Not really. They were coming off a wretched 4-8. Many thought Kelly left CBJ a well oiled machine. Uh,... no. The UT game was really the turning point for Cincy under Jones. They went on to win 10 and a conference title.

And if we are sharing heresay,....
There are quite a few former UT players in the Cinci area, and they were very positive about Jones.

It is a form of addiction for some on here. Negativity breeds negativity sometimes, thread had potential when we started:clapping:
