Why didn't we have this Cincy guy on the hiring committee? Dude clearly has the inside tip in the coaching staff, and can predict the future.

I guess it was my fault for thinking people could see the post for what it was, a question about how the Cincy fan base/alums feel about losing CBJ. I swear some of you guys just want to ***** and moan about anything. If you think this is the most pointless thread ever you have not been around very long.

Wtf? I'm a tool for asking a question? I simply was wondering what the general concenus was from Cincy's fan base about losing CBJ. I know it has no bearing on what he does at UT but its the offseason and there ain't a lot to talk about right now. Man I didn't realize this would piss so many people off.

If you go back and look at it from a fans perspective...it looked like you were posting something just to dog the coach...and BTW nobody here gives a damn about a Cincy fans opinion on football...

I spoke highly of CBJ in every post I wrote. I in no way "dogged" him. Even the guy I spoke with said he would win us games but he didn't think he could get us to the elite level. Well to everyone that though I was disrespecting Coach Jones I apologize. I hope that he has much success at UT. I never said anyone would care about a Cincy fans opinion I just wondered what that opinion was. This is a tough crowd in here I really was just trying to have a discussion not start a "riot".

Not sure where ''Cincy Grad'' gives the guy's opinion any more validity than anyone here. We just have to wait and see. I already like Butch Jones better 2 months in than I did Dooley at any point here. He has shown he can move up the coaching ranks and improve programs, I see nothing that would ''prove'' otherwise. Dooley was no better than his record, give Butch some props... He just wins ballgames, and championships. Bring it back Butch...

You also don't have a consensus on what Cincy fans think. You have one persons thoughts that mean absolutely nothing and post it. You opened that door with this dribbling attention seeking nonsense.

I never said it was a concenus I was asking if others had spoken with people in the Cincy fan base so we could see what the concenus is, do you guys even read the post?

Attention seeking? Brother I'm 32 years old, have a family and a full time job I could give a damn if you or anyone else on VN even know I'm alive.

I realize that his opinion means next to nothing. All I wanted to know was if anyone else had spoken with any other Cincy fans and what they had to say. I guess I'm in the minority that care about what his former players and fans think of him.

Respectfully disagree... A coach at UT coming off the Dooley era will certainly not get fired within the first 3-4 years with 8-9 wins in any season. Ultimately, however, that coach must be able to consistently (enough) beat Alabama and Florida to keep his job. Look back at the history of UT--it undid Majors and Fulmer and others before. In the end, if you want to be the coach at UT, you have to be winning and competing for SEC championships.
