Second, the image problem is of their own doing. They wanted to portray themselves as thugs. They got their wish. Their fans and the school need to quit complaining that it has backfired because they are the ones that promoted that vision of the team to begin with.

Clean up the image. Don't blame others for drinking the medicine oil you were selling.

As to #2 .... I'll proudly compare academics as between the University of Florida and the University of Miami any day. You love to cite that MBA statistic. That's one program amongst, what, 130? Please. You know better than to hint that UM is in the same ball park as Florida.

You evidently have access. What's the oeverall ranking of UF versus the overall ranking of UM?

That's the best you have. Allvol posted an article that showed Miami went four years under Davis and Coker without a single arrest. When was the last time Toilet Water U of Gainesville did that? We get the newspapers here in South Florida. Unlike the folks to the North, we can actually read them. It's cute to see you try to fluff for your university. Don't let logic and fact stand in the way. With the notable exception of its Tax Law program, I've never encountered any field that UF is highly regarded in, and even then it's just a safety school for students who fail to get into Ivy League schools or Duke. Pull the incoming SAT scores. That will tell you all you need to know about UF v. the "U."

No, the reason for the series being shelved is the inability of the University of Florida at Redneck Heaven to compete on a consistent basis with the "U." The 31-4 beatdown in '87 essentially ended the annual meetings.

You evidently are unaware of the UF Engineering program, the journalism school, the building construction or architecture programs, etc., etc.

As to arrests, I'm not familiar with the article. My only conjecture would be that it is a function of the fact that, in Miami, the police are simply too desensitized by all of the crime and misery there that they overlook anything UM players might do. As long as it isn't a First Degree felony, in Miami you get a warning.

The only red headed stepchild reference that is applicable to the UFaRH-"U" series is the fact that the Canes beat the Gators like said stepchild everytime they see them. Still don't have an answer to the four year break between arrests and the crime rates in Coral Gables and Gainesville. Of course, Gator fans never have answers for the "U." Just mindless stereotypes. I'm waiting for Lawgator to bust out a Tony Montana or Ricardo Tubbs reference at any moment.

We have UM set again. We cancelled it because we wanted the home game every year for the $. I don't like it. But its the truth.

As to stereotypes, what was it you said five minutes ago, hat? Something about rednecks? Backwater stuff? Klan meetings? FYI, my girlfriend is from the West Indies.

Dont like Miami but I respect the teams they produce and they have put a lot of great players in the NFL. They are one of the most feared teams in College football year after year.

I should clarify that I live in Winter Springs, about 45 minutes to an hour NE of Disney. Work in Winter Park, which is home to the Morse museum, housing the largest collection of Tiffany art glass in the world, along with excellent examples of American art pottery from such makers as Rookwood, Weller, and Van Briggle.
