Spurrier to Miami speculation . . .

1. Miami has had fewer off the field problems than any major power in the last decade. The only people who buy into the "Thug Image" are idiots who don't bother to deal in actual facts and the douchebag fans of the backwater schools in the Sunshine State.
2. When the University of Florida at Redneck Heaven has US News and World Reports #1 ranked MBA program, or incoming SAT scores comparable with the "U', you can talk. Until then, don't say anything. It gives away the ignorance of the average Gator fan/grad.
3. Miami is already regarded as a prestigious school in business and academic circles. I seriously doubt they need advice on how to run their university from supporters of the Glorified Junior College to the North.

As to # 1 ...... Are you nuts? The fewest off the field problems of any major program? Do you not get newspapers where you are?

Second, the image problem is of their own doing. They wanted to portray themselves as thugs. They got their wish. Their fans and the school need to quit complaining that it has backfired because they are the ones that promoted that vision of the team to begin with.

Clean up the image. Don't blame others for drinking the medicine oil you were selling.

As to #2 .... I'll proudly compare academics as between the University of Florida and the University of Miami any day. You love to cite that MBA statistic. That's one program amongst, what, 130? Please. You know better than to hint that UM is in the same ball park as Florida.

You evidently have access. What's the oeverall ranking of UF versus the overall ranking of UM?

Thought so.

As to # 3....LOL. Okay, I get it now. You were kidding the whole time!!

Right?

You were kidding, weren't you?

Oh my God ... You might be serious... Someone call 911 and direct them to hat's house. He is seriously ill and I worry that he might harm himself if he is exposed to sound, rational thought, based in fact and not hyperbole.

Without a doubt, the most laughable post of all time. I'll be willing to wager that the crime rate in Coral Gables is lower than that of Gainesville. Typical backwater thinking. You rubes just stay up north and leave the only real city in Florida to the human beings. Isn't there a klan rally or a Molly Hatchet concert to keep you people busy in Gainesville?

Lawgator chose to deal in stereotypes. I just followed his lead.

Wow. Just wow.

That's the best you have. Allvol posted an article that showed Miami went four years under Davis and Coker without a single arrest. When was the last time Toilet Water U of Gainesville did that? We get the newspapers here in South Florida. Unlike the folks to the North, we can actually read them. It's cute to see you try to fluff for your university. Don't let logic and fact stand in the way. With the notable exception of its Tax Law program, I've never encountered any field that UF is highly regarded in, and even then it's just a safety school for students who fail to get into Ivy League schools or Duke. Pull the incoming SAT scores. That will tell you all you need to know about UF v. the "U."

This is why Fla and Miami quite playing each other.

No, no.

This is why Miami fans have the worst possible mix of a Napoleonoic, red-headed step child, syndrome. You can find it in the DSM IV. Look under "hat inextremis lunacy."

Symptoms include selective memory loss as to all things that actually happened, lashing out at those that call them on it, and wishful thinking.

It can be very dangerous. And its catchy.

No, the reason for the series being shelved is the inability of the University of Florida at Redneck Heaven to compete on a consistent basis with the "U." The 31-4 beatdown in '87 essentially ended the annual meetings.

You evidently are unaware of the UF Engineering program, the journalism school, the building construction or architecture programs, etc., etc.

As to arrests, I'm not familiar with the article. My only conjecture would be that it is a function of the fact that, in Miami, the police are simply too desensitized by all of the crime and misery there that they overlook anything UM players might do. As long as it isn't a First Degree felony, in Miami you get a warning.

The only red headed stepchild reference that is applicable to the UFaRH-"U" series is the fact that the Canes beat the Gators like said stepchild everytime they see them. Still don't have an answer to the four year break between arrests and the crime rates in Coral Gables and Gainesville. Of course, Gator fans never have answers for the "U." Just mindless stereotypes. I'm waiting for Lawgator to bust out a Tony Montana or Ricardo Tubbs reference at any moment.

Ah, more stereotypes. But, what would I expect from a man who lives in a city whose greatest contribution is an amusement park/shrine dedicated to a cartoon mouse.

Hey, Sonny and Rico are two of my heroes. I'm just saying, if you're going to peddle in stereotypes about a city you don't have a thimble's worth of knowledge about, go all the way.

We have UM set again. We cancelled it because we wanted the home game every year for the $. I don't like it. But its the truth.

As to stereotypes, what was it you said five minutes ago, hat? Something about rednecks? Backwater stuff? Klan meetings? FYI, my girlfriend is from the West Indies.

Yeah, I'm sure Enos and Roscoe and rounding up Gators for every infraction of the law they commit.

Dont like Miami but I respect the teams they produce and they have put a lot of great players in the NFL. They are one of the most feared teams in College football year after year.

I should clarify that I live in Winter Springs, about 45 minutes to an hour NE of Disney. Work in Winter Park, which is home to the Morse museum, housing the largest collection of Tiffany art glass in the world, along with excellent examples of American art pottery from such makers as Rookwood, Weller, and Van Briggle.

Simply following your lead. You choose to use outdated images of the "U" that have no basis in fact, I'll simply state the prevailing view of the Northern portion of the state held here in South Florida.

Stereotyping, are we?

You fear them?

Thankyou for making my point.

Pottery? Yeah, nothing says comopolitan mecca like some glorified ashtrays. Please tell me that was an attempt at humor.

You think that it is outdated to view Miami as a city where the uninsured motorist population is ridiculously high? I'm assuming you live there. What's your car insurance bill?

And please, use the letter "M" for million. Its easier that way.

I collect late 19th century and early 20th century American art pottery. Hand decorated stuff. Don't go mocking my hobbies or I'll start in on you and your horse porn.
