It amazes me that people do not know why sanctions were handed down to USC.

Nothing illegal took place during Reggie's recruiting process.

His 2nd year on campus an agent started paying rent for his parents along with other improper benefits.

Do you understand that the coaching staff never paid him? A big time booster didn't pay him. An agent did.

No, it never was and still isn't. Not sure how you could read that into anything I said and I certainly never said we should be splitting recruits with Florida and Alabama...whatever that means.

Some of you are missing the point. The comment I began this thread with is basically stating that we are not going to compete with Florida and Alabama with the kind of class we are putting together. It is not an indictment of anyone.

After today, I'm really not surprised 99% of this board doesn't approve of winning.

Twist it however you wish, bottom line is that the elite programs didn't want an elite talent because he is/was a chump.

This whole thread is the MAIN reason I don't read whole threads anymore. you used to be able to get on this board and get real news and analysis that made sense. People talked to people and had information to give along with analysis on the kid based off of their performance.

Now even the "recruiting gurus" rely 100% on the rating services to properly rate all 10,000 kids, or however many there are. I understand "observation", but predicting the future with Rivals stars is a little dicey of a proposition.

top 5 classes hasn't worked for UT recently either, so I guess it's time to give up football guys. Also I'm sure Dooley is always accepting applications.

Remember, games are played on the field. If the outcome of the game was due to recruiting classes, then it would be pointless to even field a team.

The negativity surrounding the team will spill over to recruiting. Whether you believe it or not, the recruits look at the fans perspective and if those that insist that they are "in the know" continue to spout negativity then it will effect some recruits. Why go play for a team, when the fanbase has no faith in the HC or coaching staff?

Some of you kill me!!

Negativity only breeds more negativity.

Have a little faith and let it play itself out. My life will be no different if UT goes 7-6 or 13-0. I will stilll enjoy watching them play. Some of you act as if your life is depending on the success of the team. Success is not always measured in wins and loses.

there is absolutley nothing you can smoke that will allow you to suggest that we could possibly pull the #1 class after this season.

The fact is you have no clue but state it as fact in an effort to put down our coaching staff. Saban is one of the absolute best but he's not coaching at UT.

The OP wasn't speculating or breeding negativity. It was a simple statement regarding offer lists; a statement that really isn't up for discussion.

again, I don't believe that Dooley = Saban and doubt any credible poster would make that assumption. Constantly saying our staff isn't as good as him is just stupid since very few (if any) are on that level.

Its pretty simple to me. DD is not an idiot. Hes been around and recruited for NC teams. He knows what kind of talent its gonna take to win. For some to say that we arent even attempting to land 5* recruits is absurd. Heres the plan IMO. Right now we are building depth, the so called big dogs will be coming too because they will see a solid recruiting class, come Jan/Feb I feel like we will have a minimum of 6-10 4* or higher. If not i will be disappointed, but not till then. You dont build a house starting with the roof, you have to build a solid foundation. The best roof ever build wont be worth a crap without a solid foundation! JMO.
