Still think Bray is better than Ainge??

If you had a choice, who would you rather have at QB this year, Bray or Ainge

ah yes, the "not good enough to beat out Rick Clausen so it doesn't count" excuse. Well played :hi:

If the guy doesn't play against a team, ie Vandy in '05, he doesn't get charged with the loss, just like Bray isn't charged with the losses Simms had against Bama, Florida, LSU, and Georgia.

yet Bray wasn't benched because he couldn't beat out his backup. Seems that would be an important thing to mention

Yet, Ainge was replaced due to a neck injury after hitting the goal post at LSU, not being beat out. Same as Bray being replaced by Simms. So what is your point?

no he wasn't. He may have hurt his neck but he wasn't staying in that game

Yup, he was out no matter what. That was the choke of the century.

Where does your hatred for Ainge stem from? Honestly. The guy beat Florida, Bama, Georgia, went to two SECCG, won a bowl game. He also played with broken fingers, unlike Bray. I'm completely confused as to why you hate him so much.

He was a choke artist who flung the ball out of bounds at the drop of a hat, and he dropped the hat. And it wasn't like his career spanned the glory years of UT football. 2004-2007 pretty we sucked. Not as bad as the present but still.

Yet, he has more SEC wins, more come from behind victories, more bowl appearances, and more bowl victories. Many would say that the throwing it away is a way to live and fight another down instead of throwing 2 interceptions and fumbling while trying to tie the game. How can that be worse? A 2nd and 10 is a helluva lot better than not having the ball. Do you not agree?

Yet Simms played because Bray wasn't ready to be the starter. That fact alone goes against Bray. He. Couldn't beat out Matt Simms. Only after the season was lost did Bray even come into the lineup.

Hatred? I don't hate him. I listen to his show at least three or four times a week.

But as a QB, he sucked.

Yet, he has more SEC wins

No, HE doesn't. The team he played on does.

You seem to have this recurring problem of thinking that there is only one player on the field, the QB. Maybe you should follow the NFL, tailor-made for casual fans without much knowledge of the game.

Bray beat out Simms. What are you babbling about?

Who gets the win in baseball despite it being a team game? That's right, the pitcher. He's not the one scoring the runs and fielding all the ground balls, but he gets the win/loss to his name. Same type of scenario here. And deja vu with that crap about the NFL. And Bray didn't beat him out as a freshman or else he would've started all those games. Wake up and remember.

Aha, I see, you're confused. You thought this was baseball. You see, in football, QB's dont have their own win-loss record. There's a reason for that.

And to clarify, baseball is the one with the little white round ball, and football is the one with the funny looking ball with little shoelaces on it, that bounces in strange ways.

:eek:lol:

Stick with watching football on sundays, is my advice.

That's where casual fans can really make their mark.

Ainge. More disciplined player, especially after Cutcliffe returned.

A good part of this is coaching. Cut would make Bray a better quarterback than he is now. Ainge was where Bray is now when Sanders was OC.

pretty big difference between a true freshman and a soph who had already started multiple SEC games

This.. Better leader and actually led us to big wins over Bama and UGA and even Florida as a freshman.. Except for the 2007 sec championship game, I thought Ainge was a pretty clutch guy. Casey Clausen> Bray&Ainge though

I watched nearly every game he played and never realized this. This makes his fantastic completion percentage even MORE impressive!

You should learn what an analogy is. And if they don't count, why do analysts and others say "so and so is the winningest qb in ncaa history?" They talk about winning percentage a lot for a quarterback. And Ainge has a better winning percentage than Bray. Not near as good as Kellen Moore (who is the winningest), but when they have a record for it, it is a valid stat.
