You also should realize that Stokes was an honor roll student in high school, I highly doubt his grades would slip that much.

I don't think anyone was questioning his grades, it was him dropping out to pursue the NBA people were asking.

Ahh thank you for clearing that up. Then my response to that, is - there's no way. He's too limited with his game and needs to branch out with his mid-range game before thinking about the NBA.

I agree he's not ready, but there's kids every year that declare that aren't ready, you just never know.

The stokes dropping out of school seems to be a rumor, he's in Knoxville and has been working out at TBA, so he's ok campus. As for what his plans are, I'm guessing that decision probably hasn't been made either way officially. Martin said he's going to sit down with everyone individually next week in regards to their future...so I'm guessing within the next 1-2 weeks we will hear about anyone going pro or transferring or not coming in.

Wells that's good news. Hopefully he will stay. Not just cause I want him to because he needs to. I appreciate the response!

I can't believe it's even on the table. Don't get me wrong he's a great player with tremendous potential, but he is in no way ready for the NBA and that was clear watching him on offense all season. Yes he's on offensive board monster, but he struggled with finishing all season and has a lot of work to do before he is NBA ready.

How did you feel about Tobias entering?

I knew he had potential to be good but so did guys like Gerald Green, Ndi Ebi, Daniel Orton, Sebastian Telfair, Shaun Livingston etc.

Who would have guessed that Tobias would light it up for like 18-9 in the course of the month or whatever insane numbers he was putting up recently? He couldn't even get off the bench in Milwaukee and is tearing it up in Orlando. He wasn't putting up numbers like that at Tennessee.

Some people might not appear ready but the NBA will draft on potential. Stokes might be better going now being drafted on potential as opposed to never really progressing. Then you won't get drafted.

I'm not saying he won't progress, I'm just saying that's the risk you take. The NBA will draft you if the potential is there and they think you're raw. But you're not exactly raw if you stick around college and don't improve.

It's a double edged sword. There's an argument for both sides. The smart thing is generally staying in college but not always. Some kids stick around too long and blow their window.

Because I've heard it from mutiple people I trust, and one of which has a class with him.

I also doubt he'd be hanging around campus if he wasn't going to class, would probably head home don't ya think? Or somewhere to train...

I really dont know what to think about what is going on with him. His girlfriend is here, good place to train here (free facilities), other than that, I dont know why he would want to be on campus.

Based on some things I have heard in passing, I doubt he will be back. But, I didnt know he was back in class either. That may be a good sign, but who knows. Sounds like a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes that we may never know.

Not disagreeing at all with any point u are making but I have hung out at all kinds of dumb places bc of a girl.... LOL

Don't know this 100%, but I have a feeling if stokes wasn't attending classes and was destroying UTBB APR which could cause Martin a chance to get his team in the NCAA he wouldn't be allowed to use those state of the art facilities anymore...just a feeling.

That is exactly what I thought too, but apparently they are handling it different than I would. May be a reason why he is working out at the TRECS and having friends rebound for him instead of managers.

Agree 100%, but wonder if the school would be subject to a potential lawsuit if the player wasnt allowed to use the bball facilities.? I would think his contract/scholarship is good through the end of the semester, whether he ever attends another class or not.

One other thing that makes me think he's returning is that their has been no recruiting of big guys that I've heard for 2013 class. Josh Davis would be ideal to replace Stokes, but we haven't even made contact last I heard so that doesn't appear likeky.

Then again I keep reminding myself I'm a Tennessee fan and somehow good things don't happen for us...next year is supposed to be the perfect storm, only fitting something would happen to screw that up.

He was in Pratt, but has not been there exclusively since this little episode started. You would have a hard time finding him playing anywhere outside Pratt before this, thats all I am saying.
