He is in a weak Conference right. He has done what he was suppose to do in that conference. He went to Louisville been there 3 years went to a bowl all those years and playing in BCS bowl in the 3rd year.Has SEC experience as a DC.I think it is time for the next step and hopefully Strong takes the next step for the Volnation a NC.

Some people don't even wanna do research on STrong...I admit...I didn't know much about him besides he was at UF with Zook and Meyer....This guy is endorsed by Tony Dungy and pretty much every coach you talk to raves about him. If we do hire him and you can't get behind this guy till he proves you right...then gtfo here... I'm excited if the hire does happen...may not be who I wanted, but if you think this guy will settle for mediocrity then you have no f'n clue

Well let's see.
Muschamp has his sec team 3rd in the bcs year 2.
Richt has a been a proven winner even though I think he under achieves.
Spurrier has won a NC.
Bielema has 3 straight rose bowl appearances.
Miles Nc
Saban multiple Nc
7th best is not bad sir considering the company this conference currently has as coaches.

So you are willing to settle for 7th in the SEC?

I am not. TN can do.better

I hope you understand I am not putting Strong down ... he might bring the Vols back. What it is ... is all the people acting like he is Gruden 2.0. The guy has not even been given the job and people are putting expectations on him that Saban himself couldn't even accomplish at Tennessee. This is starting to turn into Gruden watch all over again.

Why should TN settle for medoricity ?

Name the SEC coaches you would rank Strong ahead of.

Strong is not the answer

How is settling for Strong mediocrity? His record the last three years at Louisville is the same as Fulmers in his last three years at TN!

At the end of the day a fanbase divided.

Sad to see people hating each other because the disagree about a coach.

Let's just hope UT gets back to tradition.

Here we go again.

How about these credentials for CCS

2 NC rings, 2 SEC championship rings, and 1 Brand New Big East Championship Ring

We would be CRAZY not to hire him.

Bring me another candidate with FIVE championship rings to his credit.

He has more rings than Urban, Richt, Spurrier, and Miles

yea, he is totally unqualified.

If your not committed to winning then don't hire Strong.

The man flat knows how to win championships... the man knows how to win

He will be an absolute Rock Star at TN.

Ditto! Strong is NOT the answer and is only going to further divide the fan base.

Between those who accept mediocrity and continue to buy tickets and be good little sheep and those who will now just give up on their support of UT football in following the AD path set forth giving upon the pursuit of excellence. But who cares about wins when we can take the PC path and not be accused of being racist.

What do we have to offer top coaches? We don't have the money, we have no instate talent, we play a very difficult schedule and we have a fan base that's smart enough to believe that Gruden was coming here.

There's gonna be doubters, of course. Even if you think Strong wasn't the right choice, its ok. It's done, get over it and move forward. For those who will support Strong, let's do it...support the team too. It can't be any worse than what we've had. GBO !!

We have to compete in age SEC.

How many SEC coaches would you rank Strong as being a better HC?
