Stop with the C Strong bashing

What do we have to offer top coaches? We don't have the money, we have no instate talent, we play a very difficult schedule and we have a fan base that's smart enough to believe that Gruden was coming here.

Jesus, we are a top ten football program. Poor mouthing losers with no self esteem always get what they expect.

Wrong..When he lands a top ten class that will shut some DA up but he will have us in games we shouldnt be in yet and will beat someone were not supposed to beat.

Well I guess we will see. IMO not going to be a good hire.

Between those who accept mediocrity and continue to buy tickets and be good little sheep and those who will now just give up on their support of UT football in following the AD path set forth giving upon the pursuit of excellence. But who cares about wins when we can take the PC path and not be accused of being racist.

Lets leave the race card out of this thread if thats the only thing you have to bring go start your on thread!

Tom Jurich, one of the best ADs in the country, is trying his best to keep Strong.

That is compelling.

Well, I'm hearing it from other SEC fans. I work around several different ones. They are wanting to know if we couldn't put the job off on a local high school coach. They think it is funny we have fallen so low that we hire ANYONE that will take the job.

They are right. Stop and think about it. Well, we don't have to accept this or support the university anymore. I wish Charlie all the best. UT is going to remain the clown of the SEC, imo.

I think you just hit on it...

Why didnt they call on Fedora? Maybe they had their mind set on Muschamp. That argument is tired and doesnt make any sense.

Why is it tired? Because it's a good question to ask?

Strong had a history there. He had similar credentials to Muschamp. Why didn't he even get a sniff of the job?

Here we go again.

How about these credentials for CCS

2 NC rings, 2 SEC championship rings, and 1 Brand New Big East Championship Ring

We would be CRAZY not to hire him.

Bring me another candidate with FIVE championship rings to his credit.

He has more rings than Urban, Richt, Spurrier, and Miles

yea, he is totally unqualified.

If your not committed to winning then don't hire Strong.

The man flat knows how to win championships... the man knows how to win

He will be an absolute Rock Star at TN.

I don't remember him being a head coach of SEC and National Championship team. If that's true Dooley had 3 winning seasons and a Sugar Bowl win while at LSU. That's including a 9-7 season coaching the Dolphins.

We're going to revolt. Not going to accept another 'just put it off on whoever will take it' hire. Not gonna take this.

Then revolt. Stop posting, stop going to games, stop buying UT merchandise, stop your *****ing and moaning, and stop being a fan.

I'm sure the university will feel your loss.

Thank you to sir.

You think TN should settle for a mid pack coach?

You only listed 4 coaches being ranked lower than Strong

There is just too much unknown to say whether he will have a clear advantage over that group in the middle. I think he will likely be the best of the rest, but if we can convince Saban, Spurrier or Sumlin to coach the Vols then that would be my preference. I do not think either of those is available.

I do understand where you are coming from. I think General Neyland was the single greatest football coach in college football history. He worked hand in hand with Patton and MacArthur. He went through the crucible of two World Wars. It is hard to accept the product we are currently choosing from when that is our history.

I like Strong from the choices we appear to be mulling because I think we won't win championships again until the focus returns to the defensive side of the equation. That is why we never won with Manning--we'd score 40 on Florida and lose by 3 touchdowns.
