Stranger Things

Just finished season 3. I'm so pissed about...

Them killing off Hopper! He was by far my favorite character on the show!

Also...

I hate that Billy died too. Sure, he was a prick but I liked his character.

Also...

I kept wondering who the token gay character was going to be. I was honestly surprised at who it turned out to be.

Also...

I know the show can be silly/funny at times but the whole Neverending Story musical scene was a bit too far imo. It was very groan-worthy.

Also..

I got genuinely misty-eyed at the ending with Eleven reading Hopper's speech.

Finally finished and I agree with pretty much all of this.

Although while I was annoyed by the Never Ending Story in the moment I liked seeing the fallout in the epilogue.

Also, that was totally something that would happen in an 80s movie.

Overall I liked this season better than 2 even though the humor was ramped up.

I could have sworn the show stated 1984 as the year for season 3 (ep 1), yet new coke didn’t come out until 1985.

If I’m not mistaken the opening scene was in 1984 but then there was a 1 year time jump.

The NES thing was the best part of the season, IMO. It was funny, nostalgic, and one of the least forced/most believable nods to 80's pop culture in the season.

I would have liked it better if it had just been Dustin singing it to his girlfriend (think Tom Hanks singing to his mom over the phone in Big). But the fact they turned it into this big Disneyesque musical production kind of annoyed me.

Huh? It was poorly sung and everyone else on the radio had looks of annoyance on their face.

Poorly sung?...lol..you need to go to Karaoke night on a cruise sometime so you can hear what bad singing really is...I thought that they did it well for a couple of kid actors.

Lucas actually got his start on Broadway and has sang the national anthem at baseball games a few times. He has a pretty good voice.

Fun Fact, the actress who plays "Robin" (Steve's co-worker at Scoops Ahoy ice cream shop) is the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke.

It's weird that my wife said she looks like Uma Thurman without any knowledge of the relation. I don't see it.
