Student Suspended For Removing Mexican Flag

And further.

"Racism" has been diluted to the point, that those that are truly victims of it, are being done an injustice.

I don't see how he can not be considered as a racist.

If he were to have removed an South African flag put up by an African-American he would have been called a racist. But to do it to a Mexican is ok?

Considering Mexican isn't a race, no.

When it challenges the American culture, absolutely yes.

How is it challenging American culture?

They put up the flag inside the school to recognize a holiday. They didn't force all of the students to sing the Mexican anthem or wear their colors.

No it's not, and the fact that you think that puts your views in perspective. I think I can consider myself an American nationalist. Not a racist.

My views are I don't think we should force our culture on someone else or refuse to let others celebrate theirs.

The fact that this is such a big deal to all of you puts your views in perspective.

Hanging a Mexican flag isn't celebrating Mexican culture, it's endorsing Mexican national pride.

I bet you think I'm a white supremacist, too.

yes, there is more diversity... which makes me more tolerant of the way people do things.
Are you suggesting that we are just some small town people who have never lived in a diversified region and that is the reason that we feel the way we do??

You are also exposed to plenty of minorities in the dregs of society, which can instill a very negative view.
but you're exposed more to what each person can do. in my mind, that outweighs it.

if all i had to go on was the news and i lived in a country town with very little diversity, i'd probably be racist too
