Stupid At This Level Has No Party

I don't care that a couple of closet-dwelling employees embarrassed themselves, and i dont care what happened to them. You can take that to the grave for all I care.

I just got out of the public high school system, and the system sucks terribly! The administrators never do anything about anything unless it's restricting something. In California, you teach your first 3 years, then you are untouchable. No matter how bad or how good the teachers are, they can stay at their job as long as a supreme court justice. The Administration is trying to test all of the kids so much, that it's wasting instruction time. The teachers union is absolutely ruining the profession, but so is the state department of education.

Our Problem in this country is the parents cannot take the blame for ****** their child. It seems like people are becoming more immature due to the coddling or abandonment the kids get. Is it too hard to at least try to get involved in their child's education. The Over-coddling parents pretend that there is nothing wrong with their child, and they always try to blame the teacher. It turns into a bureaucratic nightmare.
I'm 21, and I know unions are ruining this country.

Wow. Ok, I agree with much of what u say, but your conclusion has me confused.

Yes, the kids are required to take too many standardized tests, and the actual instruction part of teaching is being compromised in a huge way.

Parents are definitely passing every ounce of blame they can onto teachers because there is no accountability anymore. The generation of new parents have an entitlement complex because they were handed trophies for everything they did as a child. There is an apparent inability to take some responsibility.

I can agree with all of this, I've actually been saying this the entire thread. But how do you draw the conclusion that this is somehow tied to the teacher's union?

Accountability. Accountability in unions is frowned upon. Attempts to monitor employee performance are deemed unfair or hostile.

So what are the Repubs going to do when they can't break the union? Take their ball and go home? Keep blaming the union and do nothing constructive? Sounds about right.

Oh look, another union basher, that's new.

It's amazing that you don't want to solve the main problem. You want to preserve the major issue and just work around it.

And by the way, the employees weren't closet dwellers. The issue happened on a wide open assembly floor for a MAJOR GOVERNMENT CONTRACTOR. The young engineer that had had as much as he could stand of the union mechanic sitting and reading the newspaper asked the guy why he didn't get up and do something. The argument outlined ensued. The union had the young engineer fired, and the union mechanic (who was one of the laziest pos that I ever had to work with) was suspended for 6 months, then brought back with full backpay AND averaged overtime.

So please excuse me when I don't adopt your union loving attitude. ALL Public unions should be outlawed period. I don't even understand how they are legal. How can someone who holds a public service job be allowed to vote for the very politicians that allow them to have a union and then strike to hold their neighbors hostage? I don't understand at all (I'm being sarcastic OH just so you don't blow a gasket).

And yeah, you did call be a fool. It was an all inclusive statement for those of us who happen to not believe in your left wing pie in the sky BS. So don't try and back out of the name calling, you started it and then when your immature behavior was called into question, you started with the fools statement. Be a big girl and grow a pair and present a logical argument backed up with facts and personal anecdotes. Stop this petty your idea sucks because you aren't in my party so come up with something else stuff.

why does it need to be new or novel to be correct? The unions have destroyed entire industries in the US and made others worthless. Do they deserve less than bashing?

Why wouldn't we bash unions? Unions are bad for EVERYBODY that isn't collecting union wages.

Private sector unions increase production costs. Everything we buy that is union made becomes more expensive. Public sector unions are politically powerful, and hold the taxpayer hostage as they are juggernaut lobbyists.

Now tell me, why on earth would I support unions?

Excellent

Regardless of where she went to school, and what union destroyed her life, someone who is college educated and almost 50 should know when slavery ended.

We're all victims of evil unions.

Woe is us.

who claimed victim status?

Nobody has remotely made the unions villainous here. The issue arose and many offered up the unions and a main piece of the problem with education in this country. Many were correct in that.

he called them thieves from the public coffers. He is right about that. Wasn't in any way implying that unions are criminal, although he accurately portrayed the ubiquitous ties between organized crime and unions.

Sounds to me like he's playing the victim. Maybe I'm interpreting wrong.

I certainly don't ever feel like I'm held hostage by unions, in fact I think that is borderline insanity.

nobody gives a shiz about what you feel from the unions, as you have nothing to do with the federal purse strings. If more people paid attention to the lobbying and shenanigans, unions would have died decades ago.

I am a tax payer. I am not held hostage by a union.

Or maybe I don't pay enough attention to realize it. How am I being held hostage by the evil unions?

you aren't personally. The idiots you keep voting to DC are being held hostage, so you are being vicariously held hostage via the budgeting process in congress. Would this be easier for you with crayons?

If calling out a politically powerful special interest group for bad behavior makes you a victim, then I am a victim.

If you could start by explaining specifically, how the teachers union is holding me hostage.

With crayons.
how many ways do I have to tell you that they aren't holding you hostage. If you're struggling with idiomatic speech, take a class. If you're too senseless to understand how the unions cost us a fortune, please just keep paying taxes and quit voting.
