If I would have told you in December of 2001 before the SECCG that not only would we lose to LSU after we knock out Rohan Davey and that Spurrier would be leaving Florida for the Redskins a few weeks later and then told you that we would not win an SEC title the rest of the decade, you would have laughed me out of the room.
Fulmer has proven up to now that he never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity. The 2001 SECCG was a big missed opportunity. The loss to LSU essentiall kick started their run, and we failed to take advantage of the void left by Florida in the east when Zook was there.
At some point, you can't call it replace one hurdle with another. You just have to come to the conclusion Fulmer is just average. Not bad enough to run off with 9-10 wins, but not good enough to win anything of significance if given equal talent.
