Supreme Court upholds ObamaCare.

This isn't a win with the undecideds. The idea that we're now taxing for everyone's HC can't make any independents happy at all.

He got his socialist piece passed, but not in the form he wanted.

Spin it ever how you want to.
The bottom line is a conservative leaning US Supreme Court ruled in favor of Obama.

I do not agree with the mandate either.

As long as I can still buy cigarettes with EBT card, I'm good. I will need this government healthcare down the road anyway.

when has this court been conservative leaning? Show me the list of decisions that are conservative?

This might actually be the most objective court we've ever had. There are only 3 or 4 idealistic clowns on it.

or Roberts could have just ended Obama's reign....irony?

I wonder how long it takes before Mitt scrubs this from his campaign site:

As president, Mitt will nominate judges in the mold of Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Scalia, Thomas, and Alito. These justices hold dear what the great Chief Justice John Marshall called “the basis on which the whole American fabric has been erected”: a written Constitution, with real and determinate meaning. The judges that Mitt nominates will exhibit a genuine appreciation for the text, structure, and history of our Constitution and interpret the Constitution and the laws as they are written. And his nominees will possess a demonstrated record of adherence to these core principles.

Cigs can be purchased with EBT cards, everyone else is put on restriction with the amount of soda they can purchace, and we all have to drink from the same healthcare trough.

Sounds about right.

The Court also handed Romney a platform he would not have had otherwise, and added in the "tax" label to sweeten the deal.

Roberts might have just done more for the Romney campaign than $$$ can buy.

Not sure how. Romney's on record for saying this is his kind of judge. He's praised this guy endlessly. Romney did the same thing at a state level. Romney's hands are all over this on several levels. It may get some of the base fired up but banking on Romney is stupid. His 'genius' is already on record saying Roberts is the character he would nominate for courts. If the tax aspect is wrong, then his plan is 'evil'. If 'activist' judges are wrong, he'd nominate one no different. He already stacked MA courts with liberals as governor. Oh he'll come out making grand speeches which is expected. But his record on this broad issue in elected office would in turn give the same result.

Not to mention he cannot go with the "I'll just not enforce it" line like Obama did on immigration. Romney's already on record saying he would enforce current law and current SCOTUS decisions. He's backed into a corner risking being labeled a liar and hypocrite if he changes his position on this now.

It is obvious to me that the majority do not pay any attention to what any politician has done in his previous life. Its more about what can you do for me now.

"Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.:
"This decision is a victory for the American people. With this ruling, Americans will benefit from critical patient protections, lower costs for the middle class, more coverage for families, and greater accountability for the insurance industry. The Affordable Care Act is already paying dividends for millions of Americans -- with more to come: Children can no longer be denied coverage due to pre-existing conditions. Seniors are paying less for prescription drugs. Students and young adults can stay on their parents' plans. Being a woman is no longer a pre-existing medical condition.
"In passing health reform, we made history for our nation and progress for the American people. We completed the unfinished business of our society and strengthened the character of our country. We ensured health care would be a right for all, not a privilege for the few. Today, the Supreme Court affirmed our progress and protected that right, securing a future of health and economic security for the middle class and for every American."

ahahahahahaha, Pelosi you are the biggest freakin' elected idiot I have ever seen!

This just opened pandora's box to a whole new liberal nutty way of thinking for all the thugs in Washington.

Dissenters say entire law was invalid
June 28, 2012 15:23 GMT

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The ruling that upheld the vast majority of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul came from the court's four liberal justices, joined by Chief Justice John Roberts.

The dissenters were Justices Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas.

In a joint statement, they said, "The act before us here exceeds federal power both in mandating the purchase of health insurance and in denying non-consenting states all Medicaid funding."

Kennedy, speaking in court, summarized the dissent by saying, "In our view, the act before us is invalid in its entirety."

Interesting thing I just read: tax laws are filibuster-proof in the Senate. Therefore, since Obamacare is now a tax, it would only take 51 votes to pass a repeal bill, not 60. So this makes repeal much easier if Romney wins and the GOP holds on to the House and takes back the Senate majority.

On CNN's facepalm

CNN News Staffers Revolt Over Blown Coverage

A producer inside the courtroom, Bill Mears, communicated the information to a relatively junior reporter, Kate Bolduan, the face of the network's coverage outside on the courthouse steps.

Bolduan then reported, on air, that the invidual mandate was “not valid,” citing producer Mears.

How did he communicate with her? I thought electronics are forbidden inside.

Big picture here...even if by some chance any of this was repealed (Romney's only said he woudl repeal part) this SCOTUS decision is precedent. People are ignoring what long term effect this decision has on the country. Not to mention the fact that Roberts will be on this Court MANY years. And Romney's already stated a justice like Roberts is who he would nominate. So even forget the Obamacare aspect and look at the big picture....not good.
