Confrontation With TSA Agent Leaves Grandpa's Ashes On Floor - Indiana News Story - WRTV Indianapolis

A man's attempt to bring the ashes of his grandfather home to Indianapolis ended with an angry scene in a Florida airport, with the ashes spilled on the terminal floor.

"She picked up the jar. She opened it up."I was told later on that she had no right to even open it, that they could have used other devices, like an X-ray machine. So she opened it up. She used her finger and was sifting through it. And then she accidentally spilled it."

She didn't apologize. She started laughing
But the agency's own website says human remains are to be opened under, “no circumstances.”

Passengers could be asked to give drink samples to TSA | News - Home

Passengers say their problem is not with the rules at the airport. They understand why drinks are not allowed through security, but when they buy one while they wait for their flight, they say the TSA shouldn't ask to test it.

The TSA wouldn't say what they're testing for or why they are doing it, but travelers say they have a right to know.

Nice....

I fly every week for work. Every week for about the last 25 weeks I've brought one single serving yogurt in my backpack to eat on the plane.

This time the TSA agent saw it, opened my bag and said he had to toss it. No big deal, I'd kind of been expecting it as it's over the size limit for liquids/gels. BUT, what he said bothered me a little - "sir, the problem is that this is over the size limit."

I just looked at him and said, the real problem is I've brought this on a flight every week for 25 weeks and if there was any threat from a liquid or gel this size, you guys have completely FAILED.

He shrugged and I walked on.

There is NO SECURITY, only the APPEARANCE of SECURITY.

Yes! No security at all!!! Woo hoo!!!!

What's the difference, once they are under a union contract security will be out the window. Will not be able to fire them for letting sh!t get by.

Yes! No security at all!!! Woo hoo!!!!

On any given airline flight, which takes up the most weight on the plane, passengers, cargo or fuel? Also, for any given airport, what do they move the most of those three?

Once you figure those out, ask what percentage of resources go toward protecting each category and is it in balance?
