Tajh Boyd

Obviously your opinion is more steeped in reality than CLK's.

As a coach I have this thought: If you're good enough to coach, do it. Otherwise don't try and say you know better than the coach who is seeing everything first hand and knows what his gameplan is. It's a losing battle.

First hand, well let me give you a little information.. Just so happens that i have seen both of these QBs play, do you think CLK has seen both of them play in person?? Probably not since he stated hes been watching videos such as the youtube videos he referred to. As far as his gameplan goes i think you can get a pretty good idea since he was the head coach of the raiders and just so happens i've seen a couple raiders games since they are televised pretty frequently. Lastly, i really don't care that your a coach that doesn't really mean you know anymore than i do it just means you have a LOT of free time to fill up unlike me. So for future reference i would appreciate if you didn't try to shoot down my posts because your opinion, like you see mine, doesn't matter much to me!!

Thanks

I don't buy this whole nobility thing. Kiffin has to have something in mind. We are talking about a guy who has a plan as to how to put his socks on in the morning. He knows what he is doing. He's not just doing it for the sake of Boyd IMO. He has to have an option that is better than Boyd.

And we aren't talking next year, people. This is about 3 years down the road when we will need a quarterback other than the ones currently on the roster. You have to get a guy every year, and let's be honest, is Bryce Petty ever going to actually start for us?

Boyd wouldn't have seen playing time next year anyway. Some of you were overestimating him.

One thing is certain... if Kiffin tells a guy he fits, he's not blowing smoke up his butt.

Wow. I'm impressed. You should apply for a job. I hear CLK is hiring.

Maybe to irrational fans.

The man has a plan and if Boyd doesn't fit into those plans, then he did the right thing by telling him, so Boyd could go somewhere where he could be used and not waste away on the bench like other UT QB's did in the past.

You still need good QB's on the the bench to make a run.

Found this on Tony Basilios website about Kiffin:

"He has thoroughly researched our commitments and the prospects the former UT staff had been developing relationships with He knows which ones he wants to pursue as well as the ones he doesn’t"

Obviously, he didn't want to pursue Boyd......who may or may not pan out as a college qb

He also told the Clarion-Ledger that he is focused on Friday's state championship and is not discussing the possibility of leaving State because of Croom's firing/resignation.

If he was firm, he would have stayed firm instead of offering a bit of doubt.

he also said that he would talk to other schools at the time because no one knows what State is going to do. Bama is supposed to be going after him hard.

You might be discounting the QBs we currently have on the roster. True they were nothing stellar, but the entire offense was dysfunctional.

He simply might have evaluated the situation and decided he could get it done with Coleman.

All we know is Cut was very high on Coleman, and Clawson said Coleman grasped the offense the most out of all of the QBs.

I've had a hard time all year long placing the entire blame for our pathetic offense on the QB. I'm a bit quicker to point at the O-line who totally underperformed. I also think playcalling must have been the worst in UT history, but there were so few plays called, nobody had a chance to criticize them enough.

Well sorry i'm not retired and i don't have FREE time to fill up. I also don't have time to sit on volnation all day and rack up 1000's of comments. So if your praising your self for having a lot of empty space in your day that needs to be filled with online forums and coaching your sons 6-8 yr old flag football team well than maybe you should get a life and quit advising me on mine!

I would imagine its true. This came about yesterday. I just don't see how CLK can drove a guy like this unless he had another guy in mind. I mean qb is a pretty big need. There are going to be some pissed off fans who were really excited about Boyd.

I don't see how anyone can be that excited about a 6'0 QB that runs a 4.75 40.
