Tajh Boyd

per rivals.
Barry Brunetti capped up a big junior campaign with a state championship last week, as Memphis University School beat Brentwood Academy 38-18. Brunetti racked up over 1,000 passing yards and 600 rushing yards in leading his team to a perfect 13-0 record. Along the way he accounted for 37 touchdowns, despite only playing three full games because his team was so dominant all season.

and boyd doesn't fit the style he wants to play?? boyd and this guy go hand in hand!! The only difference is that boyd wants to be in a pro-style offense and not use his feet as much unless needed where this kid is an obvious dual threat QB.. I just don't get this move at all, seems pretty stupid!!

Obviously your opinion is more steeped in reality than CLK's.

As a coach I have this thought: If you're good enough to coach, do it. Otherwise don't try and say you know better than the coach who is seeing everything first hand and knows what his gameplan is. It's a losing battle.

Yeah, apparently he did decommit after Kiffin told him he would honor the offer but that he likely wouldn't fit in the system

CAN ANYONE VERIFY THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED OR IS IT PURE INTERNET SPECULATION?????????

Dangerous move if we end up having QB problems next year. It is irrelevant if Boyd would have worked out or not. The perception was that he was the solution. Kiffin better come up with one otherwise his seat will get hot in a hurry.

My thoughts exactly. Kiffin supposedly also wanted Brady Quinn or Calvin Johnson over Jamarcus Russell when Russell was the Raiders top pick a couple years ago. Either player would have probably helped the Raiders more than Russell did this year. I'll wait and see whats up before I decide if Kiffin is an idiot.

I started to post this yesterday, but then deleted the thread once I found out that there was a 5-star QB committed (like I said in my very first post, I am new to the Vol family).

Don't be surprised if Tyler Russell doesn't give Tennessee a second look (and vice versa).

I am very confused by this...I am afraid some of our other recruits that have been in contact with Boyd may just ship too because of this!

I don't buy this whole nobility thing. Kiffin has to have something in mind. We are talking about a guy who has a plan as to how to put his socks on in the morning. He knows what he is doing. He's not just doing it for the sake of Boyd IMO. He has to have an option that is better than Boyd.

And we aren't talking next year, people. This is about 3 years down the road when we will need a quarterback other than the ones currently on the roster. You have to get a guy every year, and let's be honest, is Bryce Petty ever going to actually start for us?

Boyd wouldn't have seen playing time next year anyway. Some of you were overestimating him.

Supposedly Kiffin contacted him and said he was going in a direction that wouldn't include Boyd and he should look elsewhere.

Great, I wasn't that high on him anyway. I think we should get a QB and not a running back trying to paly QB. Good job coiach.

Maybe to irrational fans.

The man has a plan and if Boyd doesn't fit into those plans, then he did the right thing by telling him, so Boyd could go somewhere where he could be used and not waste away on the bench like other UT QB's did in the past.

This whole thing is very strange. You don't just tell your 4 star qb commit that we don't need you unless you've got someone else already in mind. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next couple days.

this doesnt make sense at all.....what did rivals say on it?

edit- eye waz so frustrated eye spelled sense rong
