No, with our current civilian and military leadership any further involvement in Afghanistan would most likely lead to more dead Americans and more egg on our faces.
I thought Hillary had taken over your account, quote sounded like something she had said.

So is that what left-wing media is lying to you about now? Don’t tell me the Taliban can’t fly when the guy hanging from the rope would beg to differ

That's not an Apache, it's also not a verifiable video.

Please refrain about chastising anyone including the "left wing" media after trotting out a grainy, unsourced youtube video.

My bad. Not Apache but blackhawks. As if that’s any better. View attachment 394414

Also from the source (SIGAR) of the aircraft numbers in your graphic:

Even before Kabul and most of the country fell to the Taliban, SIGAR reported that the AAF would struggle to maintain, repair and operate its helicopters once U.S. forces withdrew and took civilian contractor support with them. The aircraft already were overtaxed and operating beyond scheduled maintenance intervals in an attempt to hold back the Taliban tide.

It was known as early as January 2021 “that without continued contractor support, none of the AAF’s airframes can be sustained as combat effective for more than a few months, depending on the stock of equipment parts in-country, the maintenance capability on each airframe, and the timing of contractor support withdrawal,” according to the SIGAR report.

Once, just once in my lifetime it would be nice to see supposed leaders state that no matter what previous administrations did or did not do we are responsible for our actions. Explain what they think they did right and what they would have done differently with hindsight. This political show is a total waste of time.

You can look for any excuse you like. It doesn’t change the fact that the video is uncut and not photoshopped. Someone is flying that US chopper and the man dangling from it isn’t computer generated. You lost your debate. Just own it like a good little lefty and go about your fairytales and rainbows.

That you're trying to dunk over that busted ass video makes me sad for you, especially when you couple it with your incessant whining about the "left wing" media.

Sit down kid, I've seen UFO video's that are more credible than your grainy youtube BS thats so sketchy that not even Newsmax or OAN would touch it.

Anyone watching the Afghanistan committee hearing? The dimocrat chairman is basically blaming Trump before the hearing even starts.

NO .... not watching. I'm watching youtube video music of old for now.
That **** show is a waste of time for the viewing public .... they want solve anything today.

It’s an ANA Blackhawk.

Well if it’s a Blackhawk it only helps strengthen my case I’m arguing with him. They absolutely CAN fly them

You are right, it is a Blackhawk. It’s not a U.S. Blackhawk, and I doubt it will be useable in a couple months, but it appears they are currently flying them.

The damage is done and irrevocable, best thing we can do is move on.

Yep. We spent 20 years there for revenge because the feds couldn't accept their policies at home let some two bit terrorists attack us. It seems like maybe we should be strongly against revenge act two because we screwed up the exit. Take the loss, put our names on the stupid list of failed wannabe Afghanistan conquerors, and move on.

I vote to try leaving them alone and see what happens. Maybe China will piss them off, get hit with an attack and then they can deal with Afghanistan for the next 20 years.

Seems like almost every lasting power has felt the urge at least once. I can't think of a better place to screw up Chinese ambition than Afghanistan. There's another glimmer of hope there, too. If the Chinese should actually appear to be winning, the proximity just might tip the Indians into action, and they and China are the only two countries in the billion citizen count ... nobody else is even close. I know a lot of people are thinking Taiwan, but China and India aren't on friendly terms at all, and two front wars don't usually end well. If we could just get those big azz mountains between India and China out of the way ...

Why wouldn’t they be able to fly them in a few months if they can fly them now?

You’re missing the point. The Taliban took over within days of our leaving. Once that took place, why did we stop in and take our equipment back?

More importantly. Why didn't our plethora of overfunded intelligence organizations figure out the Taliban would take over within days? Maybe we wisely hide intelligence successes, but it sure seems like there can't actually be many because the agencies have spent so much time and effort on failures.

We went to Afghanistan in the first place because between the failure of immigration to monitor people they let in and failure of the intelligence agencies (FBI presumably) to pick up clues. Apparently they are too busy keeping tabs on US citizens to consider everybody else we let in a problem ... of course, that could be a matter of diversity rules. Maybe if we issue border jumpers tax IDs, a newly enlarged IRS can track them.
