It seems two things are being conflated. Should we get out - yes, there's not a whole lot of debate about that. Why didn't we plan for this to happen and execute better is the real current issue.

As for strong talk against the Taliban drawing us back in - we are already back in to execute the withdrawal. 6000K troops now - we were coasting at 2500 for some time but now we have to get back in to get out.

Was listening to an interview on the radio with a Westpoint grad who was in the same class with Mike Pompeo, he’s been all over the place with the military in his career. He was saying it’s wrong to place much blame on the Afghan army because they were in fact willing to fight and had incurred thousands of casualties fighting the Taliban and had been fighting them since shortly after we got there. The sudden vacating of Baghram Air Base caught them off guard. They had been relying on our intelligence and air support and all of a sudden they found themselves largely abandoned. That order came straight up from Biden. Just another bit of information to chew on.

Again, if we would have announced a date you guys would be on here saying how stupid that was.

There was no clean way to do this.

Did you even listen to what he had to say? He was saying that they had multiple plans in place months ago to get people evacuated before the withdrawal yet none of them were heeded by the Biden administration.

1. Occupy the country and make it a full territory such as Puerto Rico and have them help pay costs
2. Force them to convert to Christianity
3. Kill all Al Qaeda leaders and make example of them by hanging them in streets (instead of imprisoning them in luxury prisons)
4. Destroy any village that aids Taliban
5. Fortify border with Pakistan and cut supplies. Demand Pakistan support war effort. If they don't help, Ally with India and promise India all of Pakistan. Seize nuclear weapons in Pakistan then allow Indian army to clean their clocks and take back a part of India stolen by Muslims

If none of this works, seek the full obliteration of the countries population (or at least any that do not side with you) to seek the total destruction of the Taliban and any future threat to USA.

Do to them what we did to the Native Americans.

If this were Trump the left would be having a field day with this like you guys are. Biden just happens to be the guy in the seat that actually pulled the trigger and left.

I believe most all have been critical of the "How", not the "Why". It seems like common sense to get all the non military folks out before the guys with guns leave. You can make any excuse and blame anyone you like, but the buck stops at the President.
