TE Coaching Hire ???

He probably know a little bit about the TE position and could be excellent on the recruiting trail.
True, but he could also be a terrible coach and not recruit anyone. Fact is, he has never coached at any level so there is no coaching record to evaluate. I think the stakes are too high to hire a coach with no history to base his being hired.

No the silly argument is people like you arguing that he will come in and be a successful coach just bc he has great NFL accolades. .

Why don't you go back and read what I said. You will realize, if you read slowly and carefully, that i said nothing at all like that. Find something you are right about to argue. Don't try to make up words for others so you can shout them down. You sound childish.

If he’s smart he want come here, because if he didn’t succeed people would be be bashing him. He is a legend just like Peyton is VFL

Not quite accurate. As Head Coach at Christian Liberty, went 2-8 his first year with an inherited very bad team, and then 10-2 in 2022 winning the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools Coach of the Year award last year.

Not sure if it translates to college coaching material, but not an empty resume.

Heard he owns some property in Elizabethton. Somewhere up between Stoney Creek and Bluff City. TIFWIW.
Man ya hear all sorts of rumors about him, that’s one I’ve never heard though.

I don’t ever see him moving back here at all, he visits and will continue to visit. He still has family in the area .

It’s just a joke about the Grumors.

Any news on who. I seen a couple of names mentioned Zac Kromer and Thomas Brown from the Rams
Worst kept secret that McVay told his assistants to look for jobs. Brown moved to coach TE’s for the Rams just this past season after coaching RBs for two seasons but was a running back for UGA and a recruiting dynamo as a position coach for that group…most recently for SC.

I think Heupel gives Quarles a call for what it’s worth.
I'm not sure Quarles would give up being head coach at ETSU for just a position coaching spot. I would think he would at least try for an OC position, but maybe I'm wrong.

This is INSANE.

Ask Jonathan Echols if he’d be okay with learning how to play TE from Jason Witten.

I can’t with some of you guys… unbelievable.

Cool story bro. So you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Echols would love to be coached by Witten? Wow. I didn’t know you knew him personally. I wonder why more big time QBs didn’t want to learn from former Heisman trophy winner Chris Weinke?

How many years did Weinke play in the NFL and how many Pro bowls was he selected to play in?

Huepel likes guys he's familiar with. I'm guessing it's one of the following...

Matt Wells (Analyst at Oklahoma. Former HC at Utah St. & Texas Tech)
Luke Wells (TE coach at Tulsa. Former TE coach at Utah St.)
Jon Cooper (OL coach at Western Carolina & former TE coach at UCF)

Love him. Great VFL. He needs to gain coaching experience before coaching at a place like Tennessee. See Jeff Saturday at the Colts for example. Great center, should be hall of gamer. Just didn’t need to be an interim in the League.

Tennessee is no one’s training ground.

We are talking TE position coach by the greatest TE player ever. No one is asking him to call plays as OC. Not sure why he wouldnt translate. I mean recruit? What TE wouldnt want to meet him?
