Likewise, the free-spending actions of W are considered part of the problem.
I just think you are going to be way outnumbered by the freakazoids like gsvol and joevol who see this simply as an opportunity to continue the mantra of hate.
Freakin hilarious.
The story begins "Some worry..." about ACORN backlash at the parties. Makes them appear under siege.
But who is "some"? The article quotes the tea party people as saying they aren't worried, so its not the tea party people that are the source of this dramatic and important concern.
Know who "some" is? I do. They don't exist. Its a fabricated concern to once again go after ACORN, who may or may not deserve it.
Its like liberal media doind a story that "Some people are worried that all Republicans eat their children alive" and then discounting it.
What a freakin joke this network is.
Tomorrow, my husband and I will be venturing into the wilds disguised as a news crew to do some in person interviewers with teabaggers here in Rhode Island (if we can find any). Weve got some questions lined up to ask, but Id love to get suggestions!
The great thing about owning professional video equipment is that armed with it, you can pass yourself off as being a professional news crew pretty easily.
So tomorrow, WSFR is going to send a cameraman and on air news personality out into the field to cover this teabagging phenomenon.
Were going to ask open ended questions that seem to have a slight conservative bent to (hopefully) get them to open up and just start ranting. Then, we take any examples of racism, hatred, ignorance, and stupidity that we catch on camera and make a little movie out of it. Probably a YouTube special.
Heres the list we have so far
* What are you celebrating (The Boston Tea Party), and can you explain its historical relevance? [We're hoping to get some hilarious flubs from this one]
* Is this your first time teabagging? [OK, so, a juvenile one, but worth it]
* Do you approve of Michael Steeles plan to expand the GOP through a hip-hop urban-suburban marketing strategy? [hoping to get some juicy racist stuff from this question]
* (as an intentional misunderstanding/follow up, presuming that someone complains about wasteful government spending) So you disapprove of your tax dollars going to the Iraq War? [should elicit some confusion]
The Santa Monica Tea Party of 2009 and Tea Parties all across America are being organized by friends of Rush Limbaugh and Bill OReilly, all about getting less funding for government. Lets show up with a better message: STOP funding wars and Wall Street, and start funding the needs of the people health care, education, and a green economy. Join us as we crash their party.
That seals it then. Why listen to the thousands of organizers who say otherwise when you have one conservative commentator that says otherwise.
The grass roots organizers are the ones I believe in terms of their purpose in doing this. I just think that the effort is going to get hijacked by folks with a more partisan agenda.
No chance he could have been taken out of context? He may very well have said that, but in the end it would not matter, whether those who lean left want to admit it or not there is a valid reason for the tea parties. Some kooks will show up but that is no different than any other demonstration organized in this country.
That's just it. I truly believe that the "kooks" will significantly outnumber the people there solely to protest the tax system.
you began your claim with 95% would be kooks.
Like any other group of Americans who lean more left have done with any number of demonstrations over the past eight years? You didn't seem to have a problem with code pink or any number of groups from a long list then, why the problem now? It just looks as though you are finding reason to criticize one particular group or segment when you would have given others a free pass because they fit better in to your mode of thinking.
No, I don't mean in terms of organizers. I mean in terms of folks showing up. The grass roots locals I think are probably feeling a bit overwhelmed right about now, having to fend off those who would convert their tax protest into a general Bitch-About-Obama jam session.
I would bet the kook ratio is under 20%. Of course, you indicate that complaining about Obama makes you a kook. Clearly, Obama is a focus of much of the outrage since the massive spending proposals are HIS.
The "BO is a muslim" crowd will likely be under 5% - possibly non-existent.
What do you think about the tactics of the couple from the Daily Kos?

Ignoring this one, LG?
