My original post never mentioned composite, it said ranking, as I have proven their rankings were very similar. Composite has some really bad outliers and issues as it’s been discussed many times on this board.

Also, I haven't seen any, no. The back and forth between Basilio and Tom was really weird to see though. Don't know of any other SID having a public spat like that. Why not, ya know, message Basilio privately or something rather than handle it publicly like that?

Far be it from me to defend Basilio, but I don't see anything in his original tweet that was particularly damning or would be awful if it was false info anyway.

Unfortunately this is how the Bball forum rolls most of the time. It's as if every poster fashions themselves as "lawyers in training."

Basilio blasted Satkowiak the last 5 minutes of his post Bama game streaming program.

He edited it out of the streaming file. I was half asleep but he mentioned something about Satkowiak had already posted more in his reply to TB’s tweet than is is allowed to. Basilio said that he knows exactly why players were held out of the scrimmage but that he was going to refrain from making that public. I was shocked that it wasn’t just a crack or two at Tom’s expense. He went on for several minutes in his attack of Satkowiak. All the way to the sign off. The recorded podcast ends abruptly. Usually Basilio doesn’t edit out controversial takes. Actually this is the first one that I’ve noticed.

Coach Barnes believes this scrimmage should be a teaching tool for the coaching staffs and he feels obligated to honoring the news blackout that has been in place for years regarding these scrimmages. I love it when info leaks out but Barnes takes it personally when news leaks out and has for years. That being said Basilio is bad for the environment around Tennessee athletics , especially UT basketball— the guy is an assassin

I guess two times is literally "over and over," but, I think far more kids have developed and blossomed under Barnes' demanding style than not. It's easy to succeed on pure size and skill in high school. Barnes demands more and he does it aggressively. He's not everyone's cup of tea.

What I'm saying is that should all be pretty well covered in the evaluation process no? I can totally get lack of skill, lack of size, etc. but you should a good read on the kid's work ethic and motor by the time they sign right? I know nothing is ever perfect but as much as we preach culture, I'm surprised we have those kinds of misses I guess. I think you should know if a player plays hard enough for your program by film and talking with coaches, etc.

Young kids put in a stable environment could help them change/mold though. Fair counter argument.

I think sometimes a coach thinks he can coach that into/out of them and feels this risk/reward is worth it…obviously wasn’t worth it with Walker, time will tell on BHH. Fwiw I’ve heard nothing like what we heard with Walker, BHH is getting lots of run and sounds like he’ll get plenty of PT, just sounds like the staff is trying to really push him (as they should).
