Tee Martin for QB coach.

It seems to me that Tee wanted to come back to Tennessee, when CBJ offered him the job he put his whole family on a plane and flew back so he could talk to CBJ face to face.

The fact he didn't take the job is most likely his family and not him. His kids probably wanted to stay in their schools and you can bet his wife wanted to stay in LA. Not to mention she wouldn't want him back around his ex-wife.

No Tee wanted to come back and coach here but the timing just wasn't right.

And never will be right.

Some of you guys are unbelievable! You have absolutley no clue what went into Tee's decision to stay at USC! He has a wife and kids to think about and suddenly uprooting your whole family and moving across the country isn't an easy decision to make! Maybe he liked the school system his kids were in. Maybe his wife loved sunny California and didn't want to move! Maybe he thought staying at USC was a better career move for him! Bottom line is, regardles of where you went to school you have to do what you think is best for you and your family! I hold absolutely no ill will towards Tee Martin for the decision he made. Was I disappointed? Yes! Would I love for him to come back and coach at UT if the opportunity presented itself again? Absolutely! Some of you really need to grow up!

doesn't the mother of Tee's other child and the child live here in Knoxville?maybe that would make things awkward living here. Plus didn't we herar before that Tee's wife does not really want to live here?

She likes the L.A. lifestyle

Knoxville is beneath her and her career( that's my take anyway)

I think baby mama is an excuse for thanks, but no thanks

You know, it's not exactly easy to ask a family to pick up and move especially when you are somewhat stable in the location you happen to be in.

Why don't some of you chowderheads go and ask your wife and kids how they would feel about packing up yet again and moving for the third time in five years...

Their first question would be how much more $$$$? More money (in a move from CA to TN) and being able to keep more of the money, they would be packing.

Still doesn't make him a good teacher

What Qbs has he developed?

I think people think he's great because he won a NC. That alone does not equate to being a good coach

You apparently aren't up on Wonderlic scoring. :)

Problem is we don't know if Butch offered him equal what he was making or Kiffin offered him a raise.

But at equal pay, it would be hard to convince the family to uproot once again for the third time.

To me, having a dedicated QB coach for our younger players far outweighs the supposed slight he gave us before this season. Especially a player like Tee that knew how to scramble and pass. And snagging him up before another program got their meat hooks in him would be a wise move.

Ok, but for the third time in this thread, I ask who on the staff are you going to let go to hire Tee?

And he's only coached QBs once in his career, for a season at New Mexico in 2009. What makes you think he would be more successful doing it here than our current QB coach/OC?

Good question x3.

Do we have a cap on the amount of coaches we can have? And you can't tell me after seeing the QB performance from this last season that a dedicated specialist wouldn't have helped.

It appeared to me we certainly could use all the help on the offensive side of the ball we could get

There is a cap. I don't know what the cap is but I can remember Fulmer never hiring a ST coordinator, which often killed us. He instead had an extra recruiting coordinator.
