Tenn. Senate OKs Bill To Allow Anti-Evolution Talk In Classrooms

there was a tribe of people recently discovered living in the Amazon region (or other such remote place), it was determined that they are pretty much stuck in the Stone Age and have never had any contact with the outside world.

A Christian would tell you that those people are going to Hell because ignorance is no excuse.

which is why I have such an issue with it. Just like this thread subject, the people pushing it don't want "debate" they want to be able to introduce creation/ID as a valid argument in science classes. Thing is, they most likely only want the Christian view of creationism to be presented. No idea if there is a creation story in the Koran but you know full well that wouldn't be very welcome

then why not answer the question? Does the verse you posted earlier condemn millions to eternal suffering solely on geography?

I answered it yesterday and all you keep doing is rewording the question.......proving that you want someone to justify the way YOU think.....not going to happen........the verse not GOD condemn any one to eternal suffering but you do not believe it because you can not wrap your mind around it and keep coming up with little "gotcha" comments that have no standing in the Bible......like I said, God's will is for all man to be saved and he provided a way for that to happen.....now, are you going to re word the question again or come up with another scenario that in your mind justifies your thinking about God, not me, God

I could care less if it is taught in the public schools or not. There are Christian men that debate the issue all the time, it is the secular world that does not want the debate as they try to shut the Bible out completely imo.

sorry but I don't have to justify my way of thinking and I've asked the same question since the beginning. You and OE decided to try and point out some little "gotcha" comment on your own too so I had to make slight edits.

of course it doesn't match up since the Bible was written by men with very little knowledge of the world outside their small little area. It also keeps with the idea that it is a closed little club where only a select few are deemed worthy to enter.

like I said, God's will is for all man to be saved and he provided a way for that to happen
and my point is that, as evidenced by your posts, that is not true.

debate is fine but it doesn't belong in science class

Pj, have you ever read Thomas Paine's Commin Sense? Its his essays on religion which he admits is his personal conclusions and everyone needs to come to their own but as the title suggests it should be onvious to all. He logically breaks down the holes in concepts such as salvation and even things such as why did God create an evil counterpart such as the devil, cast him in into a pit, and then let him out again to torment his creation.

I think you would enjoy it.

Honestly all I think all Chistians should read it to help them "think critically".

do you mean the Age of Reason?

and yes I've read them. I have no problem with everyone reaching their own conclusions but everyone should have the same set of rules.

why does man have to make salvation such a difficult concept

Man isn't doing anything, the concept does that on its own. Your default position is it is in the Bible, and you know. Fine. But you can't sit here and tell others that have suspended critical thinking in favor of faith that it just makes sense, when it doesn't.

why does man try to apply "critical" thinking to a matter of faith.......faith/salvation and hell/damnation is not something that has to be justified by God, just offerred....man is the one that gets hung up on wanting "proof"....there are no "holes" in salvation only man's ideas of what he thinks it should be

why does it have to "make sense", why does a man have to be able to touch and feel it as if it were a tangible object and if it is not, then it can not be true....this is my point

Yes. That's what I meant.

Then why even debate it? Just be happy with the fact that you are right because of "Bible", "God", and "faith". In your view, it seems like critical thinking and healthy curiosity obviously have no place here.

this is the issue....you want God to live by your thinking of "the rules"....that is not going to happen......like I have said before, I do not want to serve a God that is so small that I understand every thing he does or the reason for every thing he asks of us.....you want the Cliif Notes and he does not provide them so that our faith can be tested

Sorry if that is what you take from this. PJ keeps saying that i have not answered his questions when I have. To accept Christ one must "think as a child", as to suspend the natural urge for scientific fact. It is 100% a faith issue, but when attacked, am i not to respond?

"If you do not bump into satan every once in a while......you must be headed in the same direction."

not true since he created a rule book. Just questioning how to apply that rule book to everyone equally

the Bible is not a rule book, that is something that man has assigned to it, most of what is in the Bible does not effect salvation in any way, only man thinks so and uses it as a club too often
every one is judged by God, not man.....why do you need to know how God will judge others, all we need to know is how he will judge me/you

Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:

Good so far, I think I get mixed up with what he is saying at times, but good times :)

people try so hard to wrap their brains around God that it prevents them from actually hearing the simplicity of the message....I was guilty of this for 30 years and it is hard to let go of the "rule book"/its not fair mentality

Several areas, Sura Al Baqarah, Sura As Sajdah & Sura Yassin.

I did?

What was it?

do you think the people introducing this bill would be ok with that being taught as well? How about the idea that aliens did it? It's a (thinly) veiled attempt to introduce the story of Genesis where it does not belong
