Tennessee Football boldly supporting BLM

Are you a lineman or an electrician?
General contractor.
I just pick electrical for the example. Concrete has the same set up and so does plumbing. Framing is a good occupation too.
I know a guy who is a remodel contractor who was on unemployment and stated volunteering at habitat for humanity. He learns enough to start a business. (I thought him budget, PNL, biding and permit processing. He is an example of what could be done on a larger scale.
And there are plenty of occupations to feed. Nursing, restaurants/hospitality truck driver. All in need of employees.

You're certainly not that bright so it might be that you have an easier time identifying such a person. BLM is an organization that means black lives matter just as much as yours, but I'm certain you knew that. It doesn't mean black lives matter over yours

Using your logic, since you have identified me as not bright then it must be because you arent. Thus you were able to identify me.

BLM is a racist organization. I can point you to their website if you're too stupid to use google.

So, are the black people that claim they experience systemic racism liars or just too stupid to understand what they are experiencing?

Well la little different but relevant. There are doctors who have spoken out in favor of using drugs like zinc and HCQ as treatments for COVID. They said they have seen great success. Yet they have been trashed. So are they just liars or are they too stupid?

Many black people absolutely experience systematic racism. But I believe many do not.

BLM was formed by trained Marxists. Karl Marx was a racist. Of course I am certain you knew that.

General contractor.
I only ask because I agree with your initial idea. Education and training are essential in making a better life for yourself. But, apprenticeships in Tennessee, at least all the ones that I know of, are four years. And for an apprentice lineman, your apprenticeship costs around $300,000 to whatever company decides to put you through it. So, is the government gonna take that on in your scenario? The individual? Long term government assistance is a choice in most cases in my opinion. How do we train people to WANT to work?

Comparing to a lifetime cost of housing and paying for people including their healthcare 300k is expensive but certainly not a deal breaker.
edit: and given an opportunity to experience self reliance and self esteem, it’s my opinion that most will prefer work and a middle class living to poverty and slavery to the government.

@toeflood
But you’re correct. Some people are just trash. I’ve got 2 cousins (brothers) who are just trash and both blame everything but themselves for their situation. I tried to train them up and they were having none of it. They both hate me now because I finally stopped trying to help them

I'm with you for sure on the cost being well worth it. I'm not sure I can agree on people preferring a middle class job where dangerous and hard work are required compared to living off the government. I see it too many times. We saw it again with all the unemployment benefits during this covid mess. I WANT to believe people will make a better life for themselves if given a chance, I'm just not quite there. I feel this country, for the most part, already offers vast opportunities for people to be just about whatever they want to be.

I would like to have a conversation about it and try to understand why. I’ve made it known that I’m A Hebrew And lost Entire branches of my family Tree to the Holocaust. But simply firing someone like that doesn’t help prevent the spread of their hate. If anything it strengthens their resolve. Someone like that would likely be a Holocaust denier. I’d rather have more open debate on the issue so that truth would come out. Truth is freedom.
But no I cannot see any situation where a problem like that could keep their job even if I’m not calling for their termination

There are a lot of parallels between the start of the Nazi state and today's "politically correct" state. That's not meant to offend or to minimize the difference in the two - we are a long way from Nazi extremism and a totalitarian state that would take on the powers that the Nazis had. The greatest parallel is that when you turn a concept into a movement that a large part of the population simply accepts and one that vilifies any dissenting opinion then you stand on a very slippery slope. This is a game the left has seemingly always played - don't accept their view and you have no conscience, no soul, no understanding, no compassion ... you are just a worthless human being devoid of any real merit. It goes to the very heart of the "free speech" that liberals love - their "free speech" used in support of their views, but should you dissent you are automatically a vile human being without decent thought or any understanding of the "problem". The latter is particularly important because if you are deemed incapable of understanding then obviously you have no grasp of the situation and automatically no worthwhile input. If you can play the rules and force the opposition to forfeit, then you never have to fight the battle at all to win, and the strengths that opposition might bring are nullified.

Perhaps the most appalling in all this is the role of the mainstream news media and their protected "constitutional" status. They have have largely become the de facto liberal mouthpiece and too much of the country refuses to demand more of them.

Tell them all lives matter and see how that works out for you

Much better seeing that money spent to train someone one in a necessary occupation than to see it go to student loans in a field with no hope of payback.

Have you read their mission statement?

This shows your naivety to identify politics.

Indeed.

But I would like one of the UT athlete leaders to articulate what are the issues? What is the systemic racism on that campus?
Maybe, and I am just spitballing here.....maybe they are marching against racial injustice as a whole. Because something does not directly affect you does not mean that you shouldn't care about it. Some of these young men may have experienced prejudice or racism. You know they had lives before they came to The Hill, and they will have lives once they leave The Hill.
You should try empathy some time, it will open your eyes.

You are so dumb. Trey organized it and literally said that it was done in part so UT would commit to fighting institutionalized racism on its campus.

Where is it? Point it out. Oh wait, they cant.

Now we have Trey Smith posting pictures of people making comments about the BLM protest ... this just kills the enthusiasm for the season for me. Our players have been radicalized... or they just love the popularity. UT has been infiltrated by these marxists ... very sad. Has anyone shown them the FBI statistics on black homicide rates and how many are actually shot by police?

Obviously no one has nor have the players bothered to research anything on their own. The cool thing today to do is march with BLM signs and that’s what they’re doing.

Right now I’m builder boy. One day I aspire to be builder man

I deal with GC's alot.

They almost always fall into two categories. Those who have their subs certs already on file and those who scramble come audit time. The former are always successful and the latter either struggle forever or go out of business.

From my interactions with you I think you will be a very successful GC before it's all said and done.

Best of luck to you!
