Tennessee Football boldly supporting BLM

Systemic racism is about as true on campus as systemic racism in society.

What laws are there that only applies to blacks but not whats. For systemic racism to be accurate, there needs to be laws or regulations that would penalize blacks.

There are the hate crime statutes - that's pretty systemic, but not in a way that helps the BLM agenda. Same with affirmative action. The civil rights legislation of the 60s was also pretty systemic - again no help to the BLM agenda, but you'd think it never happened. I'm guessing a good helping of "reparations" to people who never actually suffered and cops who only deal with white people would end all this uproar - so the black on black violence could continue in peace.

I saw a news piece a couple of weeks ago. A Chattanooga mother was railing about how the cops never found the guy who shot her son and brought him to justice. Seems she, somebody standing next to the son when he was shot, and apparently everybody else in the community know exactly who killed him, but they refuse to tell the cops.

You act as if there can't be more than one item of focus by the black community at any given time. There are plenty of groups within the black community that focus on improving inner cities and lessening black on black violence, gang presence, etc.
It seems multitasking isn’t working.

What we have in America is actually reverse systemic racism that has backfired on the AA community because it has divested them of the incentive to compete fairly in education and career development and rewards them for having too many babies and being otherwise unproductive.

Is there an email address(es) where one can best voice their opposition to UT’s support for blm?

I haven't really been keeping up. I know Pruitt has been supporting the players and the football twitter changed their profile picture without mentioning BLM and posted a picture of a march with a BLM sign. Are these the things you're concerned about? Is there something else UT at large has done that is supporting the BLM organization? What specific actions should admin be taking, not taking, or condemning right now?

What UT Football should be doing right now, in my opinion, is figuring out how to beat Florida, Georgia, and maybe eventually Alabama. Anything other than that, again in my opinion, is distracting the team from their stated objectives to (a) win the SEC East, (b) compete for the SEC title, and (c) compete for a National Championship. Remember way back when we actually had a football team we were all proud of?

How 'bout you beat the likes of Georgia State, BYU, and not need 57 minutes and a couple of strokes of pure luck to beat Indiana before you get all woke.

We don't pile into Neyland Stadium with 100,000+ to see the veterans of an SJW march. We go there to see football. Good football. UT football. Winning football.

Dumbasses.

I'd prefer they figure out how to beat Florida, Georgia, and maybe eventually Alabama, as well. I doubt the sophomore communications major that runs the twitter account has anything to do with that. As for the players, they don't live and breathe football 24/7 and neither Pruitt, Fulmer, nor the Chancellor can make them. If they want to spend an off day marching around, let them. It's no more distracting than getting drunk on the strip (when it was the strip), the fort, or fraternity park, which UT football players have been doing before and during season for decades.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Just say you are racist and get it over with. No reason to fabricate things.

The players have boycotted the team and there's a hunger strike on campus? I've got to start watching more news.
They are protesting though, which is exactly what happened at Mizzou. Thankfully, the players haven't boycotted the team.

I'm so sick of the intermingling of sports and politics. I especially hate what's happening to college sports. Sports are naturally unifying regardless of political orientation, yet even that has now become a means of polarization.

True, you give them a low standard, you encourage gov reliance.

Those players are no better or worse than you or I and they can protest just like you or me. You may not agree with them, you may think they're misguided, you may say "I won't watch UT football because I don't agree with the politics of the most vocal players," but they can protest all they want. This wasn't GameDay so you don't have to watch it and you don't have to follow a Twitter account. If you don't like what they're saying, you're the one that is making their opinion more important that of any other 20 year old kid at UT. If they say they aren't going to play, which I doubt happens, I won't be happy, but that's their right.

Talk is fine, go out into the communities and work with younger kids and mentor them and I have no problem with the the whole team speaking about anything.

Talk is nothing, action, sacrifice, sweat equity, investment of self, these mean something and change people. All the rally cries and show only matters if work is done behind the scenes when no attention is wanted or should be warranted by their actions of giving and concern.

I know they do a lot of that, so, let the team act as civilized and respectful young adults in the public, and continue working with giving their time and effort in the community and continue to try and learn and grow as young men.

Crime is down a ton since the 80s and 90s Einstein
Obviously you havent been keep up with crime statistics this year. Lets take Milwaukee for example. TO DATE there have been 61 murders. In 2019 there were 30. How about Nashville. Its went from 4 total last year to 14 TO DATE. I suggest you quit trying to be cute on the interwebz, its not working for you.

4 total homicides in Nashville for an entire year seems unlikely.
