Tennessee Football boldly supporting BLM

I would like to know if Phil and maybe some of the bigger boosters are for things like reparations and restructuring our economic system to some other 'ism besides capitalism (light). I don't think they are, so this is all a bunch of bull. So, then we get down to this is nothing more than going along "with some of that" to somehow satisfy the mob at the moment.
I also feel like it is more in the way of appeasing the movement, but nothing will satisfy them short of a complete "makeover" of the "system".

Phil is for keeping his job and that requires the football team to win which requires recruits. That’s what all of this boils down to.

Yep. I’m sure UT is hoping to buy time and wishing this will die down once football starts. This isn’t going away though. At some point UT will have to make some tough decisions and either be willing to cut people from the team or continue to let the inmates run the asylum.

This will end up being a prophetic statement. In 2014, Mizzou was in the process of winning their 2nd SEC East title. In only their 3rd year in the SEC, Mizzou had defied all predictions and shocked the SEC traditionalists by winning their 2nd SEC East title. Mizzou Football had arrived in the SEC, with a bang.

FYI, "Ferguson" started in August of 2014. Before long, Mizzou football and then head coach Gary Pinkel had gone all-in on Ferguson. Coincidental or not, it marked the begining of the decline of Mizzou football.

There were rumors of divisions in the locker room. Recruiting fell off. Enrollment fell off. And then Mizzou football fell off. In the 2013-2014 seaons, Mizzou went 23-5. Since then? 30-32.

Coincidence, or not? What cannot be argued, be it sports, politics, inner cities, or economics, is that anything infected by the BLM virus eventually withers and dies. Mizzou football was an example. So are the cities that are literally burning because they are unwilling to call BLM, and by extention Antifa, what it is.

Pure stupidity, with a side of evil.

I will not be a part of it, and I will not support it. My father raised me to be better than that.

So yes, UT Football is on the same path as Mizzou was back in 2014. If you are saving up for a trip to UT's next National Championship game, I'd go ahead and take the Alaska vacation you've always dreamed about instead. Alaska is within reach.

So long as UT Football is in bed with BLM, a national championship is not. A house divided against itself cannot stand, and eventually this will divide the UT locker room.

Dang shame. We were so close to being back.....

Except the players aren’t divided.

Not going to happen with a team that has internal strife, and now the seed has been planted.

I'd love to be wrong, but I'm still looking for the first "BLM affiliation" that went well.

The majority of the team is black so what makes you think there is internal strife?

You give me hope.

I just emailed Chancellor Plowman. That really gives me no hope. Just needed to unload.

If you're expecting a meltdown tomorrow, that's not going to happen. And this has nothing to do with the racial composition of the roster. This has to do with the character composition of the roster. Not every player on that roster is a sheep.

And as I just said, the seed has been planted. Even Dollarweed takes time to grow, but once it does you all but have to burn the yard to get rid of it.

I'll be here to eat my crow if I'm wrong.

I'm reminded of the words of Sir Winston Churchil: “You were given the choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour, and you will have war.' - To Neville Chamberlain”

Maybe a reach under these circumstances, but for some reason it seems to fit.

Gary Bertier will handle it.

There is no way 100% of the players come from families or even themselves believe this narrative. It's bringing politics to a college locker room.
As someone that was around the team in the early 2000’s, I can attest that there is always some sort of racial division on the team. It doesn’t mean that the entire team is at odds, but I can guarantee there are enough at odds on the team to ruin the locker room if it doesn’t get shut down.

Every team is dealing with this. Not just UT. Bama Georgia, Florida and Barn have done the same thing. I’m sure everyone has if I was willing to look. By not going along with this you create the illusion that you’re in favor of racism.

Stupid times we live in

Yep and the left doesn't tolerate any dissension. Drew Brees moments coming.

I think it’ll likely be 2046 before we’re back on the national championship level.

Every 48 years Smokey finds a bone.

My favorite thing is watching guys like Donte Stallworth get on there and call people racist and complain about people not liking it.

Bitch, you killed a man and got basically nothing for it. STFU.
White privilege would have gotten him one of these, don’t you know.

Which is the lie. Being "forced" to go along with such a lie tends to begin eating at one's soul.
I’m not sure it’s forced.
A message here is being stolen.
Systemic racism is a real problem. Its not what anyone is talking about though. For example abortion is genocide Against the black race. 14% of child bearing age women are black but they have 52% of the abortions. Planned parenthood is located most often within walking distance of black communities and its founder openly said the purpose was to suppress the black race. Nobody wants to hear that though. Welfare is designed to enslave people. The system could be designed to educate and lift people out of poverty but instead it’s designed to trap people. Once they’re on it they’re trapped and it stays that way for generations. But nobody wants to talk about that.

So there are absolutely reforms that need to happen but the message has been stolen and replaced with class warfare. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try and get back to the message.

But I digress

No doubt but the few white guys on the team aren’t going to rock the boat. Heck I’d say most of them even support it.

That is why I put it in quotes. But to a degree it is, you need to go along with the mob or you're labeled something.

Systemic racism is a scam, a vague way to cry about how you arent getting yours.

Give me real life examples of systemic racism on the UT campus.

As I told another poster, you can’t look at it like a 40-50-60 year old. These 18-24 year olds have a different mindset and as long as the Gump manages their social justice actions well it will only help not hurt recruitment.
