Tennessee has only one black assistant coach?!

Well I understand what you mean. If you guys don't think young Black guys and their families don't look at this then you need a reality check. The 5* star kids that are from the inner city need someone he can relate to.

Inner city schools?

Everytime I think I have figured out just how stupid the OP is he posts again and I have to lower his IQ a few more points, at this point I am surprised he can type.

My wife is asian. Ill talk to her about what she knows about running backs and get back with you lol

According to the OP if he/she isn't white then it's cool with him because that's how it should be!

My grand kid is half Indian maybe another Jim, for the class of 2026.

I thought this thread said we only had one black sharpie. My bad guys.

Also, the Chinese American Coaches association is upset that TN hasn't hired a one of their coaches.

Why does diversity scare the crap out of so many posters on this board? If you show me an assistant coach, I can probably show you another coach that is just as qualified but of a different race. Anyone who believes that you have to sacrifice quality on a staff to have diversity needs their head examined. Anyone that believes that the lack of diversity won't hurt you on the recruiting trail is living in a fantasy world. No doubt it will be used against us on the recruiting trail by other recruiters. If you don't have to sacrifice quality to have diversity, why not have both?

Now this is a very crazy and an uneducated thread here with lots of posters that tend to make you wonder. I for one may get flamed but here we go. I for one am a college educated black man of 40 years of age. I would have just as a hard time sending my child to an institution that did not have quote unquote a fare share of black coaches that i feel my child could trust and relate to away from home. There are situations in life such as this thread that a young black kid does not have the education or seen enough of this ugly world to handle things that are said or done to them. I really feel that if some of the people here could close there eyes and just wonder what they would say if an all black coaching staff from a black college was recruiting their white child what would they say or think, would you let them go. These type of things is what can divide a team, a fan base, I have seen it happen at other schools so please keep in mind that although we may all be Vol fans but be considerate that all Vol fans may not be of the same race! In other words be considerate of others.

Minorities hate us

You are right let a few parents of recruits see a thread like this and they may hate us. Especially with a lot of sarcasm that is being displayed. No one knows why Coach Graham left, he may have just plain ole uncomfortable in his own home, that simple.

This nation has changed a lot in 40 years, today's teenagers have not experienced the hardships and challenges that you did.

Okay, we now have 9 football coaches. One is black. That is 11% of the coaching staff. Blacks are about 13% of the population. What is the problem?

Actually, I feel that we need a woman! There are NO women coaching football! Equality is equality for all!

Eh hem. Seriously though...even though you have been bashed a bit. I get what you are saying. These kids look to guys that can mentor them and that they can identify with. It might not necessarily matter on the field but it probably does during the recruiting process. Usually humans identify with what is familiar. It's fact. I believe that we should fill our staff with coaches that can mentor and relate to these young people AND are the right person for the job...whether they are black, white, or purple.

What percentage of the football teams roster is black? It's got to be 60%+

I don't think color matters as much as some of you think. Kids want to go to a school that's going to get them the best shot to make it to the nfl. These kids only care about the color green.

Some of y'all need to relax.

Well, if we are going for quotas , we need 78 white football players out of the 100 on our team. See how stupid this gets.
