Latest ESPN bracketology projects us out of the tournament.
Frankly I think Charlie Creme is being generous having us as the 4th team out. We’re 96th in the NET. That usually means you aren’t even a bubble team. If we didn’t have the name Tennessee I don’t think we would be anywhere close to being in the tournament with our current resume. And for once I agree. That loss to MTSU is going to make it a very long row to hoe.
How you win and lose really matters as well. Losing by a large margin to Ohio State at home, losing to ND at home and only vesting EKU by 9 at home may have set us back even more than the MTSU loss at a neutral site. If you aren’t playing well at home it’s hard to convince the committee you’ll play well in the tourney.
Even if we do make it the chances of us hosting are absolutely 0 which probably means a first or second round exit. And that’s best case scenario right now.
I just hope that Kellie doesn’t pressure her into returning too soon to try to save the tournament streak. She knows she will be fired if this team misses the tournament. And this is a personal thought, NOT a fact or based on anything I’ve heard, but I would not be at all shocked if Rickea does not return this season.
They keep teasing her return but she has an agent, she’s projected as a high pick already even not playing. She’s mentioned her body has taken a lot of wear and tear the last few years and her knees aren’t what they used to be, plus whatever this injury is. Wouldn’t be shocking if they decided to pack it in for her this season and just wait for her pro career, especially if there is little hope of an NCAA tournament berth. Why bother taking the risk of lowering your draft stock or taking on another injury for no good reason? A sad thought, but again, I wouldn’t be at all surprised.
In my darkest moments, this thought has crossed my mind. Especially since her last few times on the court have kind of sealed the deal on her W potential. And not only does she have an agent, but a very influential one who reps all the best WNBA players. I'd be very surprised if that conversation has not been had, and it should. Espec if the injury is as rumored. And this is a personal thought, NOT a fact or based on anything I’ve heard, but I would not be at all shocked if Rickea does not return this season.

KJH won't have a say so, as she shouldn't. RJ is now in the hands of the trainers and docs. KJH has said several times she has to ask every day what the plan is for that day. The docs will tell her when its a go.I just hope that Kellie doesn’t pressure her into returning too soon to try to save the tournament streak. I'd highly question it. No need to add pressure. KJH is well aware of her current position. I've said before I'm sure they talk, but it's only to show support and offer help. Why pile on now? There is almost no question conversations with White have taken place and she’s on a PIP.
Ain't that so? It was painful w Holly and I didn't like her half as much as Kellie. It’s heartbreaking to watch and you know it’s 1000x worse for her personally. Just sad.
I think she needs to play a few more games sometimes just to prove the injury is not permanent. I think it would have to affect her draft choice if she didn't play anymore this season. I think she would drop some for sure. I guess she could stop playing and go through the physicals and workouts and still get drafted fairly high. Still I think she will play don't think it helps Kellie either way. It does give her a high percentage shooter to take a lot of shots that have been clanging off the rim.And this is a personal thought, NOT a fact or based on anything I’ve heard, but I would not be at all shocked if Rickea does not return this season.

I think it helps Kellie in every way. Not only the shots falling, but the defensive attention it takes away from Jewel, Sara, etc. That, plus even a little more and improved TK gives me hope of not being completely embarrassed in SEC play. And probably gets us into the tourney. The last few weeks have beaten any hope of a tourney run out of me but I'd be glad for the whole miracle if it happens.Still I think she will play don't think it helps Kellie either way. The team has been shooting somewhere less than 40 percent since she went out. That is what she elevates most someone that can make shots. If she takes 15 a game and make seven or eight it is better than someone else making 3 or 4 adds at least ten to 15 points to our total almost every game. That would've been enough to hold off Notre Dame and MTSU. The Florida State game when she played her last was totally on her teammates and the 7 free throws they missed down the stretch of the game.I think it helps Kellie in every way.
