Excellent piece by Cora Hall...
Marshall trailed 88-81 with 3:28 to go against Florida. But then the Herd did the unthinkable, holding the Gators scoreless the rest of the game to take over and beat their first Power Five opponent since 2016. "The Florida game was really when it all changed," Burdette said.
The upset was the tipping point of the Herd buying into Caldwell and her system. Marshall only lost three games after that and had its most successful season in decades, which ended in its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1997. That success, which included sweeping the Sun Belt Conference titles, led to Caldwell getting hired as the coach of the Lady Vols.
But it doesn't happen if Caldwell didn't build her players into leaders, if she didn't create open, honest relationships and if challenge players to set goals. The system has led to Caldwell's success, but the true secret is the buy in she gets. And that starts with Caldwell and her ability to get the best out of the people around her.

I totally agree. lf she’s 100%, it could be a really phenomenal race, and we could be very competitive in the 100m at the Olympics. Can’t wait for track and field trials to start!I'm excited for her, but kinda concerned she hasn't had enough time to get back to 100%, and lord knows you've GOT to be 100% when the stakes are this high. Hoping hard for Jacious!

Here is her facebook pageHas anyone gotten this link to go to Latham's page?
Potential is so large have to see if we can make it into a great team. Actually have three top 30 hoopgurlz players on the team and two were top 20. Then you have another five that were top 50. Alyssa was number 72 which is way down of her actual talent. I realize team could be awesome or something of a failure. Best talent we've had in a while in a very talented league. They really did a good job getting promising younger players. Now there's a chance to build some roster stability.
I have always watched and loved track and field meets. Was very fortunate to live in Atlanta when the Olympics were there. I went to events every day. I was at the spot where the bomb was exploded about 20 minutes before it occurred. Fortunate that one of our group had to leave earlier that expected and we left for home early.Come Summer Olympics time I am ALL about track and field. Sure, I enjoy team sports of all kinds, and year-round. I also become an absolute EXPERT in gymnastics scoring every four years during the Olympics.
But track and field is where it all began, and so I'll always be most excited for that part of the Games. I would be over the moon if Jacious were to end up with a medal.
You must have felt really strange after that.I have always watched and loved track and field meets. Was very fortunate to live in Atlanta when the Olympics were there. I went to events every day.
