That’s not the part in question. Question is over him saying the return to championship level would happen immediately, not on a two or more year plan.

…and I shouldn’t be stirring the pot. More than willing to give Kim at least a year and plenty of leash to establish her own floor for the team.

Sometimes the enemy of great can be good. As a women's basketball program, we want to get back to competing for Southeastern Conference and National Championships. Our student-athletes have that ambition, and we are not on a three-, four- or five-year plan; they talked about wanting to win next year. We wanted to make sure we are positioning ourselves to be competitive right away.

Speaking as Kellie Jolly supporter.
I would give her 4-5 years .
Reguardlless of fans calling for her to get fired.
Unless Kim turns out like last Vols head coach who got a pink slip.
Or over half the player's March in the athletic director office with good reason to fire her that adds up.

That’s my point. The getting back to winning championships next year is the goal of the team, not the expection of the we (AD). That appears, from my reading, to be two to three years.

Of course next year would be fine, I’m def here for it! 🤙🏼

White said straight up in response to the team goal (and not part of it) "we are not on a three, four, or five year plan". Also, "We wanted to make sure we are positioning ourselves to be competitive right away." Right after he talked about being great, not good.

The general interpretation at the time was it was used car salesman bombast. But if taken as spoken truth, it's hard not to see it as him promising the athletes (and us) success right away.

But yes, I know he didn't actually mean it. Thus my frustration at being talked to like a gulible child.

I agree with that absolutely. The stance I disagree with is that if Kim has failed to win a natty by the end of year three, that she should be shown the door. I also do not believe those expectations are etched in stone by Danny.

The question of the original post was whether she should be shown the door after ONE unsuccessful year and of course she shouldn't. At three, it would depend on alot, certainly not just a natty, but it is absolutely what DW said. And again, never meant. Just blow harding.

We’ll have to disagree as to what his actual expectations are and where he has placed the bar. We are definitely reading the same quote, taking away two entirely different interpretations. 🤙🏼

Now, I believe, we’re getting closer to the unspoken issue. Perceived lack of NIL support for the LV program from the AD on behalf of Kellie.

I never perceived it having anything to do w NIL. Just overspeaking the expectations to justify the risky hire.

Horse dead, water under the bridge, only lived again in terms of the discussion of how an unsuccessful yr one would be received.

But hopefully we'll never have to find out! Here's to a successful year one.

Report: Indiana women’s basketball head coach Teri Moren turns down Tennessee job

Firing before giving Kim 4 aleast preferably 5 years.
Would make it harder to get a coach who doesn't have Tennessee ties.
Teri didn't want the Job with the fan base high expectations can not blame her.
Kim deserve time firing to quickly could turn Tennessee Lady Vols into post Phil Farmer of bad coaching hires.

This has been cleared up long ago. Moren is not even entertaining thoughts of another job ANYWHERE as long as she is responsible for her aging father. Her mother died, and she will not drag him from his lifelong home to another place.

It's as simple as that.
