I am so excited for the players, staff and our new young coach. The players seem so happy and that is great to see. In hindsight I think Kellie’s anxiety weighed on the team at times last year. All that being what it is, for me these pictures are bittersweet in that the ties to Pat are gone. The players will think of her as a statue. There is no one in the program to tell stories of her stare or how hard her practice sessions were. I hope sometime soon a Lady Vol will join the staff.
I don’t think there can be much doubt this version of the LV’s are going to make some waves. Listen, the nonconf schedule won’t settle any doubts this season, it is what it likely needs to be right now. The waves will be made in the conference schedule where I believe this UT team will finish top 4-5 and win some huge games. It’s gonna happen, doesn’t take a genius to figure that out, they added more talent than the media is giving them credit for, way more, and the new staff will play a style of ball that will hurt many teams. It’s coming and though I’m no basketball guru, I think it pretty plain to see. My money is on them finishing #4 in the SEC this season. Would not shock me if they were #3 at year end tbh, but for this season let’s say Tex, SC and LSU are the top 3 and Tenn is on their heels.
I wonder if there are quarter-by-quarter stats for CKC's past teams?Got the first official look at the team tonight at Market Square Madness. I would put this team anywhere from 1- 4. I don’t believe LSU, Kentucky, Alabama, Oklahoma, or Ole Miss will be prepared to battle with this version of the LVs. They are different. If the LVs go 2-1 or 3-0 against LSU, Kentucky, and Texas on the road then mark my words the LVs are looking at a top 2 finish in the SEC which could be decided in January in a showdown between SC and TN in Knoxville!
The difference is the depth.
Complete starting 5 and a very strong bench. Athletes. Top tier athletes.
It’s been an eye opening off season. As much as everyone loved KH and wanted her to be the next great LV coach, it couldn’t be more obvious that the program needed a change and the players have embraced KC and the new staff completely. The look on these ladies faces and the way they talk about the new regime tells you all you need to know.
