Tennessee Lady Vol News

@Lucy I didn't want to steer you wrong, so I checked LV basketball on YTTV, which I record. It looks like the only 4 games it has recorded so far are WCarolina, FSU, Iowa, and Memphis (tonight). Once SEC play starts, it looks like it will have all the games plus UConn.

For NCAAW, it's not all games but the lineup to date of recordings is not bad (below). I suspect that many more games will be available once conference play starts around the country. Prolly every conference and major indy.

Almost all games, including pre season, are available on SEC+ thru the ESPN ap. If you have you tube tv, or almost any streaming service, that gives you complete access to the content on the ESPN ap. You can also record those. The ones listed abov are just the ones on channels you tube provides in their pkg and will not be as extensive. But you aren't limited to those.

Thank you very very much. That makes more sense. I just just double checked my LV recordings and feared that I had accidentally misled @Lucy in my first post on the subject. Happily I did not.

Does anyone know where to find NCAAW advanced stats? I found herhoopstats, but that's behind a subscription service. Is anyone subscribed? Or anyone just happen to know a better, for-free service?

Is tomorrow’s game on TV anywhere?
No it is streaming on baller tv and the entire tourney cost 20 to view that is both games. I have a link on one of the pages here. I guess I am in even though I have no idea what kind of stream baller tv has. They let you watch a preview on their site and that looked good so since we are undefeated think I will spend the 20 since Richmond is a rather strong team only lost to Texas by 11.

Get ready for this one. They shoot 50 percent as a team and 39 percent from the three point line. That is some strong stats. We'll need to win the turnovers and offensive rebounds big in this game if were going to shoot 40 percent.

They play us and then Alabama

Tulsa only shoots 39 percent as a team and 31 from the three.

You can get the event pass here:
BallerTV - Live Stream Youth Sports

For a limited time, you can also use this promo code which would give you 20% off.Promo Code: ZDMAYA1
So instead of $20.00, it'll be $16.00 with the discount.

Thats all I know for sure at this time

Tennessee has teetered on irrelevancy. Can an outsider return the Lady Vols to the summit?

This is the title of an excellent article that is several pages long in the NYT/The Athletic. It is under a double pay wall, so unfortunately, I can't post it. Here are a few nuggets.
1. When Kim was first interviewed by Danny White, her area was under a tornado warning. She would normally not have taken other calls at the time, but took this one while huddled in a small hot closet. She became extremely sweaty due to how hot it was in there rather than nerves. She was so certain that she would not be called back that she was really surprised when she was invited to Knoxville for a 2nd interview.
2. Danny White said that this go around there was absolutely no pressure to hire with the LV ranks and maybe slight pressure to go outside the ranks for the coaching hire. The article traced White's success in hiring people out of the normal channels not only at UCF but at Buffalo.
3. Cardwell said she loved everything about being in WV and Marshall, as she loved her home, coaching, winning, and her players and did not have aspirations to get out of the mid-majors due to her concern that she would have to spend a lot more energy on things outside of pure coaching. She counterbalanced this with the opportunity of a lifetime that she was unlikely to ever get again. She says that she preaches not to a life with regrets.
4. When she coached her AAU teams she would divide them up in practice into the Lady Vols and Huskies.
5. She talked about how she knew that it would be uncomfortable for several months in the transition here, and she had just gotten through the initial discomfort at Marshall. She convinced self that she could tolerate more discomfort. (My note: I heard her talk in a postgame interview about the direct connection between working through discomfort and growth and how she applies this in her coaching style. She wants the plays to get uncomfortable and get stronger and wiser from it. I guess she applies this to herself as well. This is one of my favorite things that she has ever said. So right on!)
6. Lots of other good stuff was in the article that most regulars here know about. The article seemed fair and they said the "Irrelevancy" in the title was related to what our fans want and expect: a team that is typically in the mix for a Final 4 and possible championship and not the teams that are stuck in middling success.

Coach Kim's baby is due on yours truly's birthday!!

Pulled this over from the Lady Vol Basketball group page.

I'm hoping for a January 11th Arrival—two days after LSU and the Day before Arkansas—a team that has been getting beat up by everybody. This would be the best scenario. Come to think of it, if she looks at one of Kim Mulkey's outfits for long enough, that should be enough to induce labor and scare that baby out.

literal LOL on Big Bird's attire

Okay. That’s just the SEC that made those decisions and is not something Kim got stuck with as residual scheduling by Kellie.
You're going to have to play them anyway might as well play them early.
Nonconfence is to get ready for SEC play. it's up to the teams how they scheduled preconference SEC.
One good thing if they loss one or all four of those games.
Maybe they win most of the other games in SEC games.
And finished strong in the NCAA tournament community eyes.

I have the HH subscription, worth it IMO.

Best free option, go to the live stats link in Jumper's game thread, go to home or visitor stats as appropriate, then go to "Season" or "Analytics" tab
