Well in honesty and fact he has yet to prove he can evaluate qb talent. At his previous stops as qb coach and oc his head coach had a say in what qb started and who got first string reps. He may have had input, but that’s all. At UCF he inherited a starting qb as his first head coach gig. And he obviously picked wrong at the start of the year. So to say he is great evaluator of qb is leaping to conclusions. We will see as time goes on. As far as his qb lack of success in the nfl, that will eventually bite him in recruiting. None of these kids say man, I just want to make it to the nfl, they say they want to play in the nfl. Lack of nfl success will hurt recruiting eventually. If the system only produces bench warmer qbs, then the good recruits will start looking at places that produce starting qbs. Alabama had that problem till nick satan changed his philosophy about offense and defense and brought in coordinators that produced nfl qbs. Now he gets top qb prospects consistently. Just my opinion, I don’t make the money these guys do to make it worth anything.

So it’s a “fact” he hasn’t proven he can evaluate QB’s because he “may” have not been the only person involved in the evaluation process?

So as the OC how much say did Heupel have? How much say did the HC have? Did the HC allow Heupel to simply “run” the O and stay out of it mostly? YOU DONT KNOW……neither do I……..therefore “your fact”……is nothing more than your opinion.

Sure the HC had some level of interest and it’s certainly possible the coach had somewhere between a little and a lot of input……but you don’t know.

At this moment it is a “fact” to say that someone is leaping to conclusions by saying coach Hype is a great qb evaluator. Nowhere in his history has he proven this. Will he? Maybe. But the “fact” is that his tenure here started with him making a bad choice on this very subject.

he’s developed QBs to a high level everywhere he’s been.

here is another “fact” for you. He has lost games to all of our rivals he has played this year and big. Regardless of the moral victories, he lost. He didn’t lose by 1 score either at the closing seconds. He lost by multiple scores. I’m not saying our team has not impressed me and that he may be the answer, I’m just not ready to roll out the red carpet for him either. He needs to beat ky or Georgia and win the other 2 and I’ll be content with the season. He should win 1 game that he shouldn’t for me to think he is the answer. Lesser teams do it every year, why shouldn’t we expect that

If you want to try and refute my argument……..may I suggest not doing so via the fallacy.

Try reading the post.

Again I didn’t say “great” evaluator…..
I simply made the argument he is more proven and thus more successful than Pruitt at doing so.

You like to spew “facts” a lot without even knowing the actual argument.

If you think an OC who is also the QB coach hasn’t evaluated QB’s………then I don’t think anyone can help you…….he has and you know he has……..I didn’t say anything about “great”…….simply have shown he is certainly more proven at it than Pruitt.

Maybe, or maybe he did the best with what he was given. You guys can crown him all you want. I’ve seen it too many times for me to get all rah rah over a coach. Pruitt was the second coming of saban on defense, butch was the second coming of smart at recruiting. Dooley was bringing back wide reciever u we seen how all those worked out. Let’s see him win something before we call him the qb whisperer

I guess that’s the problem in our new world. In the old days(90’s) we could see someone’s body language and tone of language. I truly apologize if I misinterpreted what you were saying and glad we have vol fans that still get hyped up and see the positive even if I don’t see it. Go vols and god bless you and your family.
