Conspiracy top 4 National Seed as to be restricted to ESPN+ how ludicrous
ESPN disrespects the Lady Vols by sticking all their games on ESPN +, one of their lowest watched networks and one that many people don't even have access to. I'd be curious to know which of their networks they're putting Alabama's games on.

ESPN+ isn’t a network, it’s a streaming service. I’d be willing to bet the Saturday and Sunday games will be on regular TV. They didn’t put all the great home run teams at one site to bury the games on streaming.

It's always that way when UT is involved. Conspiracy or not ESPN doesn't want UT to thrive. They prefer Alabama and Florida and will work to keep other teams down. Wait till Texas and Oklahoma join. It'll get worse for UT, and teams like LSU and Arkansas. Look how the SEC Network (run by ESPN) and ESPN gushed of SC.

Wait and see

First game of Seed 1, OK, is on ESPNU. First game of Seeds 2, 3, 4, and shockingly 5, UCLA, FSU, UT, and AL, are on ESPN+.

I think it’s possible that they try to get teams on tv who don’t normally get much tv exposure, and who might not be long in the tournament, for their families and fans, just something I’ve thought.

I hope you're right about changing networks or streaming services. ESPN did that with the SEC tourney championship game.

By comparison, not using coverage of the MN, Mark Campbell and Clearwater Inv, Tennessee was on ESPN/ESPNU 5x. Same exact amount as the top seeded team. How is that not wanting them to thrive?

There is also still a misconception about the streaming. Many of the SEC games are also on SECN+, which is the streaming for the SECN. It doesn’t cost extra if you have the SECN as part of your tv subscription. I don’t remember how many of the softball games were on it, but I could watch all basketball and baseball games and have never paid for ESPN+.

They’re trying to get the most interesting matchups possible so folks will tune in to watch.

Oklahoma is a national brand because everyone jumps on the bandwagon. That is why they are on ESPNU.

But, for those other high seeds, nobody other than their own fans care to watch them beat down a far inferior opponent (including LVs vs NoKy).

You're trying to compare apples and Oranges.

How so? You say conspiracy or not, ESPN doesn’t want Tennessee softball to thrive, yet I give you a sample of coverage of two teams, one that has held the top spot every week save one. Tell us how it’s comparing apples to oranges when both had the same amount of ESPN coverage. You can’t. You just refuse to believe that ESPN isn’t out to get UT. Or that the umps aren’t biased against our pitchers. You find every reason in the world to come up with to explain away things that happens with this team when things aren’t going well. Teams have umps squeeze the zones, television coverage not fair, questionable plays at the plate. The weak teams fold. The good/great teams fight through it. If you feel so strongly that UT is constantly getting jobbed, write a strongly worded letter to the AD and Sankey. Otherwise, give it a rest.

looks like I am going to have to re-start my espn+ if I want to see the LV games this weekend --- thought I was through with that until next basketball season :(

Sharing my ESPN+ experience in hopes it helps others connect before Friday.

I started ESPN+ before the pandemic ( like 9-11 the pandemic has become a new reference point). I believe when I started the service it was $3.99 per month. The price has increased every year. First it was $4.99 then last year $5.99 per month. I don't watch plus that much, so, have considered dropping it which you can do after paying for 1 month ( I believe). The only sports I watch on plus is Tennessee related sports. I don't live in Tennessee and my provider is COX.

This year I received an email from ESPN's parent company Disney. I was informed that ESPN+ was going to $9.99 a month unless I subscribed to the Disney plus bundle which includes Hulu and Disney and ESPN+. So, now I pay $13.99 per month for Hulu and Disney while ESPN+ remains at $5.99.

I still have problems with COX Communications (since it is being streamed via WIFI COX Communications should not be involved...but they are) informing me that I am not authorized to stream ESPN+. Usually that occures about fifteen minutes before a game. So if you purchase ESPN+ and decide to stream it to a smart TV check before game time to insure everything is working.

I don't want to sound like I am complaining about the cost. Frankly, seeing the number of games that ESPN provides on their streaming services SEC+, ACC+, ESPN+ etc., and the number of people it takes to broadcast a game the cost must be immense. Proud to live in a country where we have the ability to see all the games.

Before streaming, I once spent $50 ( money I didn't have) to listen to Tennessee play Arkansas in football circa 1989. I was listening on a telephone connected to Broadcast.Com ( I think). This was one of the first companies Mark Cuban started. Many college football games on radio that you could connect to via phone. Thank goodness for the internet.
